I beleive Highlands did score a late TD on a long pass from Towles vs. the second or third team, (so they had 13 or 14 points) The scrimmage was played exactly like a game, both sides had some key injuries. Do we really want to get into this discussion?

I seem to recall a post saying that Highlands' high power offense couldn't even cross the 50 versus Trinity. Trinity is that good this year.

I hate I didn't get to see them play this year.

My apologies. I was trying to recall the scrimmage details and I was thinking that Highlands pulled their starters first. My bad.

And the season is over. I'm happy to discuss anything from this past year.:D

They're a lot of fun to watch unless it's your team they're playing.

:lol::lol:

No doubt.

1. Trinity

2. Bowling Green

3. Highlands

4. Scott County

5. Central

6. Belfry

7. Franklin-Simpson

8. Anderson County

9. Cov Holy Cross

10. Hazard

11. Mayfield

12. Glasgow

I agree with McPapa...this one's right on. The Purples simply have too much heart to have lost to anybody except Trinity with this group. I'd like to mention also that the Highlands win margin over Big Blue was the same as Warren Central's (34-6). And we know what happened to Warren Central in the playoffs against BGHS. The Purples also tied Breathitt County's 2002 record win margin of 52 points and held a team that averaged over 500 yards of total offense per game through 14 games to not much more than 100 yards. The Purples scored 738 points this year, but had only one player to score over 100 points on the season.

:D

You'd have to put HC below Hazard and Mayfield since they lost to BW by 43 and Mayfield beat BW. Think 3 teams in 1A would have won 2A if they were in it.

Bad as I hate to admit it, for once I agree with you! :thumb:

They already beat them 38-6 in a scrimmage this year.

I wasn't talking about seeing Trinity play Highlands. I just want to see Trinity play.

Possibly and they also couldd have lost to HC. They improved tremendously. So to say would have won is wrong

This comment is like saying comparing scores is o.k. Well Mayfield beat Beechwood and lost to Hazard so that means Hazard is the 1A champ. HC beat Glasgow which makes them the 2A champ. Are you going to play 7 degrees of Kevin Bacon to justify this comment? How do you know Mayfield beats HC just b/c they beat Beechwood and Beechwood destroyed HC?

Somerset beat hazard. Hazard beat Mayfield. Using Spartans logic, HC beats BW by a lot. All of this is ignorant. HC is the 2A state champ. End of discussion. Better luck next year Spartan

It's great that they had heart. That's an intangible that can't be taught. However, I can promise you, the Purples don't have a corner on that market.

And as for "broken records," I don't think that's an area you want to try to match up; because, as can be witnessed here on BGP, we are the top of the heap when it comes to "broken records." cool_shades.gif

It lets the BW fans feel good about a season where they didn't beat the teams they had to beat. But I guess you have to go thru the off season thinking something so it might as well be coulda woulda shoulda.
