Can someone please post PT"s career stats broken down by year with passing and rushing yardage as well as TD's? Thank you.

First, I am not surprised by the lack of knowledge of a player by some outside Highlands district.

 

After looking up some stats....West in his Jr/Sr seasons had over 5,000 yards passing, 1,500 yards rushing, 50+ TD passes.

Towles in his Jr/Sr seasons has over 5,000 yards passing, 1,500 yards rushing, 60+ TD passes.

 

West is listed as a freshman on UC's roster.

What school did he go to? Note I am asking who he is, not knocking him. But, with so many good players at Highlands, it's tough to keep up with others!

He went to Conner.

1. Lorenzen - strong arm able to run

2. Towles - able to run with arm but not as strong as JL

3. Guidugli - great arm, wasnt the scrambler the other 2 was/is

4. McCormick

5. Grogan

Who is Nick West?

 

Nick West was a nice QB. Played for Conner and a great kid.

 

Not sure he would be in the top 5. He was a senior in '09. In my opinion, Bardo was the QB of '09. Sorry that NKY didn't get to see what Bardo could do due to the injury during the Highlands/St. X. game. Honestly feel that Bardo would be top of this discussion if not for an unfortunate play.

I agree Nick West is up there. A great quarterback without the receiving corp that some of the mentioned qb's had.

That's just in the past 15 years. There are many more who could be considered in the mix. But I don't believe Eviston or Smith are top 5. I also think this kid from Conner could be considered when its all said and done. But most probably won't consider them because they don't play Highlands.

evinston became a great QB in college at Georgetown. He was average in h.s. because on the offense.

Chad Lawrence was better!

I agree Nick West is up there. A great quarterback without the receiving corp that some of the mentioned qb's had.

 

When he throws for over 10,000 yards in division 1, he can be mentioned in the same convo as Guidugli and Lorenzen. I highly doubt a walk-on could do that.

I will go with Lorenzen at #1. If Dale had Lorenzen comming in next year for two years he would break every offensive record for Qb's. Gudugli benefitted from Dale's experience w/ Lorenzen. Towles benefits from Dale's experience w/ both as well as a willingness to utilize his qb's in the run game. (Lorenzen did a little of this his senior year)

Remember Lorenzen was under center most of the time as a junior and about 35 to 40 % of the time as a senior and was in a huddle between plays. All part of the evelution of Dale as a coach.

On the other hand, defenses have had to evolve to keep up w/ todays passing game and are a bit more ready for the complex passing system than those of Lorenzen's era. All of that said there is no answer for 285 coming at you in the open field running a 4.75 and you can never get deep enough in coverage to account for the strength of that arm.
