Wait till after this weekend. When the college coaches see Jackson he will get on some D1 school's radar. Quan Weaver of Frankfort received an offer from UL a couple years ago and EJ Fields of Frankfort is at UK. Jackson is better than both of them IMO. Plus Jackson is a good student so that will help also.

mayfield has 11 seniors, one of which is out for the year with an injury. The only area that I feel like we will not be as strongat is the depth at WR. Next year is a year we have been waiting for and should be one of the best teams we have ever had if it develops like it appears it is going to. Higginson, Ross. Love, Wynn and Tracey are the best known of that group but 7 of them have seen game time with the first unit. Jackson is already getting alot of looks, from the SEC Ole Miss has been courting him the hardest from what I have been told. I also hear UL has been very interested and UK has shown some signs of interest. A few other big names have been mentioned but it is my understanding that Ole Miss has been the on him the most. I do not know what Jacksons age is. He is much better on defense than offense. Though his biggest area of improvement that is noticeable is his running the ball. It sometimes seems that he has another gear when he excellerates through a hole like he is being shot out of a cannon. He already has the ACT scores and his grades are excellent which will help. He grows a little more and he can go to alot of D-1 schools but it appears that unless injury occurs that he already has D-1 options. LaBront Scott also has the grades to play college ball and has that college size and all the physical tools. At times this year he took over games on defense, he hurt his hamstring early in the Beechwood game and did not stand out like Jackson but he is likely going to get D-1 attention

I really didn't like how long it took them to blow the whistle on a few of the run plays. I thought a player from either side was going to get hurt because of it.

I couldnt agree more, there were a number of times where both teams running backs were stood up for what seemed like an eternity without the whistle being blown.

Btw... The worst playoff officiating crew I have seen.

 

I would say it was a close tie with the crew who called the Belfry/Garrard game, I believe three flags where picked up.

In my eyes, the penalties do little to diminish the Beechwood program ... players and coaches were frustrated at a non-call that occurred on the play that ended their season. That happens in the heat of the moment. It isn't like Beechwood's players were taking cheap shots on Mayfield's guys or anything.

Maybe you are right, but I think as a coach you need to be a bit more composed and a little more dignified (not sure if that is the word I am looking for). I respect coaches who respond, "that was tough call; however, we need to execute a little bit better so it doesn't come down to the officials judgment" more than I do someone who makes an excuse by complaining about a call. Yes there are emotions and it is a bitter tough pill, but a coach may teach no greater lesson than how to handle adversity and disappointment when things don't go your way.

Coach Rash stated his opinion, which he is entitled to, that he thought the play was interference but it was part of a hard fought game and he was proud of his players. Even some Mayfield fans though it could have been interference and that there were other non-calls in the game for each side. I think if you look hard enough, there could be a potential penalty on almost every play. Yes, the emotions reached a new level but that can hardly be deemed a microcosm of the Beechwood program. It's quite the contrary and that's why I think a key reason that people reacted to what they saw in the manner they did.

Beechwood = Class....No matter what happened Friday night. Kid was frustrated and that is all. Nothing more. This thread would be 20 pages if it were because of cheap shots but that wasn't the case.

I played hockey for my dad for 10 years in my youth and he was one of the most stoic and calm individuals I had ever known. One game, when a brawl broke out, I saw my dad with the other coach in a headlock. It happens often in hockey but it was totally out of character for my dad so the incident drew a fair amount of attention.
