We ought to give the clock operator a break. He was unfamilar with that model of a stadium clock (first time since it was at Newport), but was doing his best. He is normally right on at other fields.

Holy Cross has a nice team. Not sure who will win next week but after what some of the Holy Cross fans were saying after the game I'll have to pull for Glasgow. It's bad when you can't walk out of a place with your mouth shut without being harassed. And they were adults too.

What happened at the end?

 

There were flags flying from all directions, there was more "laundry" on the field than at the laundromat. I'm very shocked that no one was thrown out of this game, the Refs should have taken better control of this. I was sitting around the Somerset fans and they were not happy with their own players taking "cheapshots" at the Holy Cross players.

I'm not sure what was said to you, but I'm sure it was in response to the personal fouls, unsportsmenlike conducts, and cheap shots against their sons. I have never seen 3 personal fouls on one play like tonight. The last PAT attempt by HC was a perfect example. Fuller KNELT with the ball instead of kicking, running or passing for a 49th point. Somerset was called for unnecessary roughness on the play! HC was hoping not to get anyone hurt.

Eric Walker #3 was amazing and was left one on one too much tonight. Fuller looked great! I thought the Holy Cross offensive and d-line took over in the 2nd half. Congrats Holy Cross!:clap:

I want to say this may be their 12 th year. The one significant fact is that these are some of the first kids to go all the way through the junior high and high school program. When the program began most of the players were playing for the first time as freshman. These kids had a couple of years under their belt when they started as freshman.

It's the 14 season of football, I didn't realize Jalen Beal ended with five touchdowns!

Jalen Beal - rushed 9 times for 67 yds and 4 TDs, 6 receptions for 91 yds and 1 TD

Eric Walker - 12 receptions for 126 yds and 2 TDs

 

Somerset

Alex Lange - 11 of 21 for 125 yds, 1 TD, 1 INT, rushed 18 times for -7 yds (that's net)

Will Lange - rushed 7 times for 85 yds

Bryson Jones - rushed 4 times for 26 yds, 1 TD

Storm Wilson - 5 receptions for 66 yds, 1 TD

Question for Somerset fans, who was the big right tackle that came in late in the fourth quarter? He looked every bit of 6'6 320 and what grade is he?

Holy Cross ... wow. This is the same team that gave up 69 points to Beechwood in midseason?

As I said, last week was the 2A state title game. HC has found a way to maintain a high powered offense, and this is the success you are being able to see. Not to mention their defense is stepping up.

As far as the players and coaches of the team, it is. As far as the way they are playing now compared to when they played Beechwood and New Cath the first time, the team is completely different. HC has been nothing but impressive since the start of the playoffs. If HC and Beechwood were to play now, the result wouldn't be anything near what their last meeting was IMO.

 

HC had a nice regular season with an 8-2 record, but I can't remember the last time I saw a team look as improved as they have from the regular season in to the playoffs. They are playing like a completely different team. I believe that the biggest difference has been the defense.
