The Belfry preview seems a little more biased than the Garrard preview.

The writer of that article is a Belfry grad and a homer, but she is enthusiastic and she does cover every game. I'm thankful we have somebody to cover the Pirates, however, you are always going to get a Big Red slant.

I understand completely. The Danville paper does pretty well and they cover Boyle, Danville, Casey, Lincoln, Mercer and Garrard so they aren't homers. The local Lancaster paper is a little more like the Williamson paper, although their writer does a really nice job, too. And I'm glad you guys do get coverage (and it was on line). I went back and read a few articles from previous games.

There's definitely not going to be a shortage of speed on the field friday night.

I hope I didn't sound negative towards our sports reporter, Ms Johnson, at the WDN. If so, my apologies to her, I didn't intend to be. She does a fine job and we are lucky to have her.

 

 

gchs, you will also find coverage from the Appalachian News Express in Pikeville for Belfry's games. Their online content however is usually not up to date and/or omitted compared to the print version.

Good stuff right there. The more I listen to Mark Scenters, the more I like what I hear. Garrard County Football seems to be in good hands, not only this week but in the future. It's always an honor to play this deep in the playoffs, even moreso when you face a quality opponent with a classy coach and fan base like Garrard County has.

I think Belfry will be too much up front but Garrard does have some nice skill and will break a couple Belfry 35-14.

The more I consider this game the more it becomes obvious Belfry will roll in this one. Garrard's program is headed in the right direction and appear to have a nice staff, but their growth has maxed out this year.

 

If BHS doesnt overlook them and i dont see that happening....I think the stage is too big and BHS is too seasoned to let this one get away.

Correct on all points. 105.1 FM and 1230 AM are the same broadcast, with Garrard County announcers. 102.9 is out of Stanford and is a different broadcast with the Lincoln County guys broadcasting. Both would be good choices.

I cannot describe the excitement in town this week. My facebook page has seen tons of alumni saying they are coming home for the game. All the buildings are painted. Cars are being painted this morning. And tailgating starting at 5. It is literally the only thing people in Lancaster are talking about. The crowd will be huge tonight. Should be fun!
