Belfry 35 Garrard 7

There is no reason Belfry should not win in my mind, yet I have a strong feeling Garrard is going to win this one....I think there QB is rolling right now and the unparralell success they are having has given them a huge wave of confidence.....Garrard in the upset 34-27......call me crazy....no doubt some of you will...LOL...

I have a bias towards Garrard County, but I honestly think that they can come out with a win. Garrard is at home, is on a 12 game win streak, they have 2 running backs that are averaging close to 150 yards per game a piece. I just think this game is going to be speed against speed. I guess we'll see when the time comes!

I don't think Belfry and Garrard have ever played each other before, so they don't know anything about each other really.

 

Can somebody from Garrard tell us more about this team? What type of offense/defense do they run? What do they like to do? etc.

 

I will be glad to do the same for Belfry.

Belfry's greatest obstacle in this one is themselves. With Bowling Green one game away and the big win over Breathitt, it will be very easy to dismiss this team due to the name on their chest and that could be fatal. The last time Belfry played a solid team after an emotional win was the egg laying known as Johnson Central.

 

 

I have watched Garrard on iHigh and they are a very solid ballclub. They do alot of the same things as Breathitt and Ashland, but I don't think they are as strong defensively as either team and as good up front as well.

 

Garrard could very easily beat Belfry if the Pirates bring anything other than their A-game. Belfry has a significant advantage in depth, experience, and have played a much tougher schedule (Danville is the Golden Lions toughest opponent and they would probably be 5th or 6th on the Pirates)

 

If the Pirates play with the same intensity and resolve as last night: Belfry by 4 TD's

If Not: Toss-Up

I think Coach Haywood and the assistant coaches from Belfry will have the Pirates ready for the game against Garrard County and I don't think that they will be overlooking Garrard in any way at all..

 

I say Belfry wins by at least 2 TD'S.

I'll admit I don't know much about Garrard County, but I don't see Belfry overlooking anybody in a state semi-final game. I'll be surprised if Belfry doesn't win by 2 TD's or more.

Belfry 35-14.

Belfry is a Completely different Type Team than Garrard is usta to playing aganist. Haywood will not let his Team overlook Garrard Co. Belfry too much for Garrard. Belfry wins 28-7.

The buzz is that Garrard plays all their games on their Middle School field while the new HS gets built and the stadium isn't very large seating wise. If this past Friday is any indicator I would expect Belfry to bring 1500-2000 fans if not more, and I would think this may be the largest attended game in school history. The pictures I have seen would suggest a lot of people will be left standing.

 

Do you think there is any chance this game gets moved to either Danville HS or Centre College to better accommodate the crowd?

No chance. Bring a lawn chair. There is good seating on the soccer field which is probably 20 feet above the football field and has a hill to sit on as well.

Garrard County has had a great season but I think it comes to an end this week. I don't think the Golden Lions weak schedule has prepared them for the Pirates. Belfry is much more physical and every bit as fast. I'll take Belfry 42-20.

No offense..but this is the 3A State Semi-Finals... not a weekend soccer game for 8 year olds.

 

I can totally sympathize with Garrard's situation as they build a new school, but you have to make the effort to accommodate the crowd for the biggest game in school history. Bring in temporary bleachers, take bleachers from the baseball field and set them up. The last thing you can do is have half the crowd standing or "sitting on a hillside" the last weekend of November in sub freezing weather.
