I Think I Took the NBA for Granted

Featured Replies

Haven't missed it since they hired Bob Cousy to come in and dismantle the Royals.

Wow! OD75 going really old school on us.

Yeah, I know. I must admit though, I did peek at a game or two during Bird-Magic-Kareem-McHale days. By the way, I liked the ABA way better than the NBA. Loved watching the Colonels in Louisville.

ABA was awesome. I saw the Colonels play the Spurs at the UC Armory. First time I had ever even heard of George Gervin.

Read "Loose Balls" by Terry Pluto .

I gave up on the NBA when the Royals left town . Used to have season tickets . Also used to go to louisville to watch the colonels play .

My dad pulled Sam Lacey and Norm Van Lier over on 75 for speeding on their way to a game. Sam was cool. Norm ran his mouth too much.

Stephen A. Smith just said on SportsCenter that he fully expects the lockout to end today. He wouldn't guarantee it, but thinks it is very likely to happen. So, take that FWIW...

I miss it. I miss it all. I miss Kenny and Chuck and EJ. I miss Kobe highlights. I miss LBJ jokes. I want to see where Howard will end up. I miss Dirk's sweet shot. I want to see Kyrie Irving ball out. I miss Blake Griffin posters. NBA>College. I lose respect for David Stern more and more each day.

I've not missed it a bit and don't care if it never comes back.

I must say that I've enjoyed watching NBA's greatest games on the NBA channel. I could make it a whole season watching those in lieu of the current product if need be.

I watched Olajuwan drop 35 against Shaq in the 95 series with the Magic. Good stuff.

I usually just start with the 1st round of the playoffs, anyway.

I lose respect for David Stern more and more each day.

Why Stern in particular?

I miss Kenny and Chuck and EJ.

Far and away the best sports studio show on TV. Far and away. When I was younger and didn't wake up so early on Friday mornings, that was Must See TV. After certain big matchups, I still record the show and watch it over the weekend. I'm really going to miss Chuck's skills at "Who He Play For?"

Agree that it is an awesome show. They show the replays on NBATV during the season and if you miss them you can get them there (if I"m not mistaken). I've also DVR'd the studio show without recording the game, just always be sure to extend the record time or prepare for frustration.

Yet most people 6 months ago seemed to think Stern was the best commish in sports. Even though he is now in his second lockout in 12 years that will cost the league games.
