November 9, 201114 yr We usually get a little deeper into the season before we such a score. Congrats to Pikeville MS for getting it starting early this season. 49 points in the 1st half and then backed off and put up 51 in the second. So I guess this half court trap continued for the entire game.
November 9, 201114 yr Coach could have put in the cheerleaders once they were up by 50 . . . Ouch They play only 6 minute quarters? That's a lot of points in 24 minutes.

November 9, 201114 yr I am glad this thread is on here. Can someone who watched the game tell me how this happened? I recieved an e-mail from a very "unhappy" parent tonight. I've heard that side of the story and just trying to figure out if it was as bad as the e-mail sounds.
November 9, 201114 yr Sometimes a really lop-sided score just can't be helped but if I was up that much in the second half I would have gone to a zone defense inside the 3 pt arc. No need for a half court-trap. I would also made my team pass at least 5 times before they could shoot, no fast breaking. That game was not good for anyone. What is the story on Kimper? Is Pikeville that good?

November 9, 201114 yr At some point Pikeville should have started their own four corners in my opinion. There is no excuse for this. Up 49-0 they should have backed off a little on defense and played their own stall ball to slow the pace of the game down.
November 9, 201114 yr I'm hoping the part about playing a trap in the 2nd half is not correct. You cannot play a trapping D up 49-0. No justification at all.

November 28, 201114 yr In 6 minute quarters he couldn't have been trying to slow things down too much. And why would you send your starters back out at all in the 2nd half up 49-0 unless you were trying to run it up?
