Also we need to quit with the "Only UK committs will win crap". Out of the last 10 winners only 2 have committed to UK...Curtis Pulley and Micah Johnson. Anyone think they didn't deserve it? From the same time frame UL had 3 winners.

 

If you look at all past winners out of 25 only 9 committed to UK.

I think one kid that is not on the list is Isaac Hardesty. QB/FS for Owensboro Catholic. He has over 2200 yards 28 TD passes. 501 rushing with 5 TD's and 39 tackles 4 Int's, Punt Returns 1 for TD, and can hit.

 

Problem for him is he don't live in the right part of the state and has not signed with UK.

There have been 4 players from the Western part of the state win Mr. Kentucky in the last 7 years and the last winner to commit to UK was Johnson in 2005.

Something to keep in mind. The people who vote for Mr. Football are the same people who ranked a closed school in their top 10 two years ago and one voter this year who gave Scott County a #1 vote in 6A.

Or we could let the same people who vote for the BGP top 10 that voted a 3-7 Male team in the top 10 while keeping a 7-3 Boone team out that had beaten Male by 2 TD's vote for the award.

I was kind of curious about that too. Not taking anything away from the kid, I haven’t watched him play, but I doubt anyone from an 0-11 team would get much consideration regardless of their abilities or stats.

Reminds me of Justin Burke. He committed to NC State ot of Lex Cath. He had outstanding numbers and victories. I believe he lost out to Micah Johnson, who was deserving, but I think the fact that he went to UK put him over the top to win the award.

 

Micah was a high school All-American!! That is a pretty sound indicator of the quality of football player he was. Going to UK probably wasn't the deciding factor in his selection as Mr. Football.

I have not had the opportunity this year to watch any on the list.

 

I did see Towles play in the title game last season and he played like a man among boys. UK would have been fortunate to have him even glance their way let alone sign up for four years of future frustration.

 

If I was voting, Mr. Jude would get my vote. There is something to be said about having your name in the books as the all-time rushing leader.
