Sweep is right. Hard to score a bunch of points against JC with the way their offense is designed. They control the clock and limit possessions of the oppossing team..

Just another group of "Bird hunters " headed to the fort !! They have their sights set on an upset and want to serve some "crow " , but I think the Birds are up to the challenge !! My prediction is the Birds win !!

Plenty. In fact, you'll see #11 Daymion Belcher and #20 Dalton Adkins get some significant playing time at the skill positions. Those two will be at the core of a very good offense in two years.

 

There's a good chance that JC in 2-4 years will enjoy maybe the richest total talent pool at any time in team history, if all the kids currently in the program and in the middle school continue to develop.

 

Also, you may be surprised if you expect ball control. There are some capable RBs, but no bruising FB as in previous years who could always get 3-4 yards a carry. It's actually an offense that depends on big plays for scores. I'll be there and cheering...but I wouldn't be surprised as a JC fan to see a running clock early in the second half. I'm hopeful and will be there cheering just like everybody else, but realistically, this team is not what it was the last two years. This is the rebuilding year.

JC can not afford to turn the ball over or get behind by 2TD's, if they do either, they're done. If JC holds on to the ball, their style of play will chew up the clock and keep the score closer than some are predicting.

JC does not want to get into a shoot out w/ Highlands. Their offense is too explosive. They will need to be a 3-4 yard cloud of dust team, quick scores (if JC can't do it consistently) will do nothing but keep Highlands O on the field. Keep Highlands' O on the sidelines in hopes that it will disrupt their passing game's timing is the key to beating them. Keep it at a 28-24 type game. As has been said, Highlands Offense puts so much pressure on an opponents offense because they force the opponent to be extremely efficient. Any failure to put points on the board will doom an opposition, b/c it's almost impossible to outshoot the Birds this year w/ Towles and the collection of receivers they have.

I am excited, Towles may get to play more than one quarter. I think the JV and now the Frosh and getting a little worn out. Time to tune up the Varsity. Go BIRDS!!!!

Very, very doubtful. The kid is a ball player and a fantastic running back. Hopefully Highlands will throttle him down somewhat but the kid is going to get yards.
