LSU 9 Alabama 6 (OT)

Featured Replies

The BCS says Bama is #3. OSU will lose to OU and we'll get a rematch. Which is how it should play out. Bama and LSU are the two best teams. They would both smash anyone else who steps in their way or in the BCS title game.

Guess that makes me a Cowboys fan. If Stanford wins the PAC-12 at undefeated and OSU loses, the PAC 12 should leave the NCAA. No one gets a more raw deal than the PAC-12 does. Oregon lost AT LSU (basically) to begin the season and were penalized more than any other major loser has this year.

Cats I don't want you to think that I am bashing you, because I'm not...I have heard many arguments for not having a rematch. If Ok State or Stanford end the year undefeated they deserve the shot. And I don't want to sound too much like a homer. BUT if Ok State or Stanford lose most believe that Bama is the best 1 loss team out there. AND if that is the case Bama should then get their shot for the title. Because to me 11-1 in the SEC is way more impressive than going undefeated in the MWC or CUSA.

Geaux Tigers!!! And Alabama get a field goal kicker. No way should the Crimson Tide be eligible to play in the national championship game unless they are somehow able to win the SEC West , then win the SEC championship game, then they should be considered. They had their chance....next.

Only undefeated teams at season's end will be LSU, Houston and Boise State.

I have no doubts that Bama is one of the 2 best in the country. They look even with LSU to me. But, I think they had their chance. Without a playoff I think that is all we can ask for. We got a great game last night, and part of what made it so great was that the winner goes to the championship if they win out. To be honest, I think Alabama and OU should have blown their chances with their losses. It sucks that Bama & LSU wasn't the title game, but what if Bama does make it in and they win the MNC game? Who is the real champion if the result is similar to last night and Bama wins?

You don't think Boise and LSU would be somewhat interesting? I think they'd have the best chance of beating an SEC team of anyone if they had a month to prepare. The build-up for that game would be huge.

I have seen some comments that if you don't win your conference championship you shouldn't have a shot (and that it was an unwritten rule)...but didn't Nebraska play for a BCS championship after not making it to the Big 12 championship?

That is true, it happened 2001. Everyone knew that Nebraska had no business playing in that game either. Since then it has been sort of an un written rule that in order to play for the NC you had to win your conference. I think last night was a great game, but if both OK State and Stanford lose, then I say let LSU play Boise, so we can get rid of those blue smurfs once and for all.

If 3-4 TD margins of victory make for interesting games, then yeah it'll be interesting.

I think we end up seeing an undefeated Stanford vs. LSU for the title. JMO.

No. Boise is not on LSU's level. Boise isn't even on Wisconsin's level. If Boise played LSU then we would say bye-bye to Boise. We'd never see them again. I don't see how anyone else can't see that.

Similar things were said when David faced Goliath fellas.

Cats-true...and if I am wrong you know I'll come on here and give full credit to you for calling it correctly. I think LSU could score easily on Boise(even UNLV got 21 on them) and that Boise would have a hard time scoring on LSU.

^You were around then?

Son, I watched the full thing in a lawn chair sippin' Coronas. It was hot that day, but well worth the price of admission. Don't know if Goliath was as tall as he was listed in the program though.

I'm not calling it, I just think it would be interesting. I think LSU would win but I think Boise would give them a better game than OSU would.
