November 7, 201114 yr I have seen some comments that if you don't win your conference championship you shouldn't have a shot (and that it was an unwritten rule)...but didn't Nebraska play for a BCS championship after not making it to the Big 12 championship? Yes and everyone was mad about it. They got destroyed in the Big 12 title game, then they got destroyed by Miami before Clappy called off the dogs. If you don't win your conference you don't belong in the title game. Bama lost their play in game. I'd vote any of the 1 loss major conference teams before them, even though I think Bama is better. Oregon deserves more of a rematch than Bama does IMO.

They got destroyed either way and didn't belong there. Stanford/Oregon, OSU/OU, Boise State....all potential conference champions. Bama is not without Arkansas' help. They lost a game at home, late in the season, at full strength for the most part. They had their chance, blew their chance, and should be eliminated.

Or how about if whoever the overall #1 & #2 1 seeds are going into the NCAA BB tourney we let them play in a championship game after the tourney is decided if they don't make it? People beg for a playoff, we had one last night. It was a great game, either team could have won. But it is over, LSU should have taken Bama out of the title chase unless complete chaos happens.

If writers do not want a rematch the polls will change and the BCS formula will reflect that.
