LSU 9 Alabama 6 (OT)

Featured Replies

Royals I agree, I thought no rematch until I saw the Photo of the pick ( Bama TE he had both hands on the ball as he hit ground) and it bothered me, wish I never saw it. But there are a lot of games left, Penn State might win out, how much coaching has Joe really been doing? We will get passed and thats only fair, our hope is that some teams will lose and as we win out we can move up. I was hoping after the loss we would be 6/7 and still have a shot, but being #3? Again other teams lose we win, we move up. Three games to go.

^Officials make mistakes all the time. (Even though I'm positive they didn't make a mistake this time)

Sounds like Bama fans are tying to come to gripes with the home loss. (No I'm not talking about you specifically AL, just bama fans in general)

Larry, Penn State closes with Nabraska, Ohio State and Wisconsin. I really don't think they will win any of these games even if Joe Pa is coaching. They had a very easy front half of the Big Ten Schedule. I just think Alabama's ranking will drop enough for Stanford to pass them. I do think they will remain the top one loss team and it could come down to the polls.

Problem is you can't go by just a picture of the pick. I was hoping as much as anyone it would be ruled a downed catch but it sure looks to me like he bobbled it just enough as he hit that I didn't think he could be ruled down.

Royal, I agree we will drop as teams behind win, its only fair, but I'm also hoping some teams in front of us lose. We finish with Mississippi State Georgia Southern (throw this one out for the (SOS)) and Auburn, yes I'll pull for them win to, Arkansas too, but they have LSU on the road, I had once said it was at the Hogpen but was wrong.

UK, the photo shows our guy with two hands on the ball and the DB with one as he hits the ground, I'll post it later, the officals have a very hard job I was one for many years. As fans we are doing better and the sites I go on have been doing the best they can and blame the loss on our team (Coaches), as they should, I love the replay officals we have now, and its format. But they cannot use still pictures and thats what you need to see as an offical and cannot be done with the close ups.

And a sidenote, we lose a lot of guys this year and the next few years we will have some growing pains. You read it here first, one reason we were hoping to get to the final game with an unexperinced QB.

The only thing we all know for sure is that LSU is better than Alabama and Oregon because they beat them on the field. That is the only way to determine if one team is better than the other. This whole thing about Stanford and Oklahoma State not being as good as LSU/Alabama is all opinion based and speculation. I am not in favor of the rematch because LSU has already beaten Alabama and in my opinion should not have to do it again. If the rematch happens and Alabama wins, how can you say Alabama's the National Champions, when everyone knows they lost to LSU on their own field. If LSU would have lost on the road, I would be more inclined to vote for a rematch.

That's my point. People are saying it's crazy not to have the two best teams in the title game, but the "two best teams" is a matter of opinion. Most people, like myself, believe the two best teams played last weekend.

But, like you, I'd prefer something other than a rematch. LSU beat Alabama. Let's find out if one of the other top teams can beat the Tigers. I also think it would be a bit of a mess if Alabama won a rematch. By rule, they'd be the BCS champion. How would the AP vote? Why even go that route?

Well, you want to get the two best teams in the final game, and don't be surprised if LSU doesn't make it. And to be honest Bama will not have a cake walk this saturday. (Auburn)

OSU/Standford one of them win out they will be in the final with LSU and I agree with that, but it kills me.

^You're right. LSU has Arkansas and east champ. Them finishing unbeaten is not a certainty by any means.

If Alabama loses to Auburn...well...what else can you say? I don't think we'll hear any calls for them to be in the big game. 'Bama should crush them.

Yep, boy I hope so, we still have our defense and they have to stop a very mad Trent. On Tidefans.com there is some film of our new verbal commitment of a kicker from Georgia, he verbaled several months ago and is a small guy but hit some from outside the 50 with no block, using a two step drop. He comes in next year and we have both guys returning too and Coach Saban will play the best kid, but all guys will have very short straps.

Hey! What about my Hilltoppers?

And the Hilltoppers.

Roll Toppers Roll! Go Oregon, Roll Texas Tech, a lot of games are still gonna be played. We lose to Mississippi State, and I settle back and just watch like I did last year.
