November 1, 201114 yr It strikes me that a lot of this plan is contingent on Boise saying "Yes." Where does the conference go if they decline?
November 2, 201114 yr It strikes me that a lot of this plan is contingent on Boise saying "Yes." Where does the conference go if they decline? The hell if I know. Save for TCU, they've been sitting on their thumbs for the last year and a half. I don't think God even knows what they'll do next, and they have all of those Catholic schools at their disposal.
November 2, 201114 yr Author The Big East will never make it as a some football, some basketball conference.
November 2, 201114 yr Howie Lindsey that runs the UL Rivals site is a friend of mine, and I speak with one of Pitino's closest friends in the business on a regular basis. I am WELL aware of what is going on in Louisville. Pitino is working one side of the situation in the media and an entirely different one behind the scenes. He is not calling the shots at UL as you insinuated. Plain and simple... Howie Lindsey is far more wrong than he is right. In regards to predictions, he is awful.
November 2, 201114 yr Dreadful league. Same thing was said when UL, UC and USF joined to replace Miami, VPI and BC...
November 2, 201114 yr Same thing was said when UL, UC and USF joined to replace Miami, VPI and BC... Could be true. Don't recall. I'll take your word. UC needs a new league. This one is dreadful.
November 2, 201114 yr Could be true. Don't recall. I'll take your word. UC needs a new league. This one is dreadful. All UC needs is AQ status if the BCS sticks around. What they don't need right now is to be in the Big 12 trying to compete with the budgets of Texas and OU while operating at a MAC level financially. Hopefully that will be remedied by the time this all starts up again...

November 2, 201114 yr It seems very hard to not say those are six major downgrades from the guys who left.
November 2, 201114 yr It seems very hard to not say those are six major downgrades from the guys who left. From Pitt and Cuse? What have they done? TCU was never in, so nothing lost. Losing WVU is a big blow, but not fatal in what it takes to retain AQ status...
November 2, 201114 yr This new conference is CUSA all over again. I wonder if they can keep a BCS bid.
November 2, 201114 yr From Pitt and Cuse? What have they done? TCU was never in, so nothing lost. Losing WVU is a big blow, but not fatal in what it takes to retain AQ status...Wouldn't their previous years have counted towards retaining AQ status? That seems like a loss to me. :sssh:
