New Big East

Featured Replies

Outside of Texas and Oklahoma everyone else in that league is average or below. Okla. State has improved and knocking on the door of OU and UT. But the Big 12 top to bottom is not the SEC or Big TEN

KState is ranked.

Tech beat OU.

A&M is solid. I know they're bolting.

TCU is coming and they're always good.

Baylor is on a nice run.

OK State is more than "improved."

Now WVU is coming.

It's a strong league.

^ At one point, I think the same probably could have been said for Louisville. What makes the Memphis situation different?

Their AD's lack of support for football over the years. Look no further than their coaching hire after Tommy West. Also geographically they contend with SEC football fans everywhere. Ole Miss has a large segment of fans in Memphis as do UT, Miss. State, and Arkansas.

Honestly, they should change the name of the conference. This ain't the Big East.

:thumb:Alot of confeences are going to have to do that, imo all of this is just crazy.

Rick said on the ESPN bottom line feeder that "they are staying in the Big East"...now you know the rest of the Tale. And who runs the school.

^ Laughable. You seriously believe that if Tom Jurich and Jim Ramsey had the desire and the opportunity to switch to another league, Pitino could have stopped them?

That is exactly what I was thinking.

Gets, why did ESPN Andy Katz quote the basketball Coach on the trials of U of L and not Jurich/ Dr. Ramsey? Did WVA basketball coach do any speaking on their behalf. Its "laughable", that people can have a coach with this much control.

^ I'm not buying it. Pitino has that kind of power if the fans and the board back him, and on this issue, they overwhelmingly don't. Why did Andy Katz quote Pitino? Because he's the only person who can't close his mouth while all this is going on. It's not in Pitino's nature to turn away and say "No Comment." We all have our personality flaws. Ramsey has hidden scandals from the Courier Journal and cover-ups from WHAS. Is Andy Katz finally going to be the one to make Ramsey crack? Hardly.

Big East is now officially a basketball conference. I hope UC and UL find greener pastures.

Because Katz is a national college basketball writer that has a good relationship with Pitino? Hard to fathom, huh???

And Andy has nothing with the WVA Basketball coach? GameTime I live here and I listen to the shows (790/680AM. CRP). One of my friends (yes I have a few) is on the sidelines with the Cards Football.

Pitino has reached out to Katz and DeCourcy to get his opinion out there while working any ties he has to the Big 12 behind the scenes to help Jurich. Pitino likes to be heard, and Huggins wouldn't give a crap if the media vanished into a black hole tomorrow...

My point is the fan base wanted to go to the Big 12 and a lot of them are upset with Rick. CardSports.com on the Rivals Network is open to everyone and you can read some issues they have. The radio stations are out of your range. 790 AM 7&-10/ Joe B. & Denny 10-12/ Underdogs 3-5. 680 12 -5.

Rick will say one thing and mean something entirely else. Rick takes care of Rick, who loves New Yawk. I've listen to him since the early 90s.

Coach Huggy will use the media when he has to, he is a Coach who doesn't have ties/Family in the New York market.

Howie Lindsey that runs the UL Rivals site is a friend of mine, and I speak with one of Pitino's closest friends in the business on a regular basis. I am WELL aware of what is going on in Louisville. Pitino is working one side of the situation in the media and an entirely different one behind the scenes. He is not calling the shots at UL as you insinuated. Plain and simple...

GT, here you go. What do Wimp Sanderson/Mike Dubose/Mike Price have in common with Rick? You speak with a friend of Rick's? So, what is this friend gonna lead folks to believe. I heard Rick with my own ears. Don't need no friend. I'll wait for your answer on my question.
