Thanks to Pitt, ESPN and the curses of the gods, they never helped the Big East grow its brand or put out a better product. Other than that $5 million, what does the Big East have to show that TCU was ever even there?

The way I see it is, the Big East was counting on TCU's football success to raise it's profile...that's gone now, so a loss. Put whatever spin on it you want to make yourself feel warm and cozy as a fan/employee of a team that got left behind, but TCU was a loss. They need Boise because it's the only football school worth a darn left that would even consider coming. If everyone that left went but TCU stayed, I feel the Big East would still be inviting Boise State.

November 2, 201114 yr Before this all started, every Big East fan I knew (I live in Louisville, I know a lot) was counting TCU as a member. It's funny the revisionist history and/or spin that is now taking place.

I can't consider a loss of opportunity the same as a loss in the same sense that West Virginia was a loss. TCU never gave the Big East anything; they weren't around long enough to ever give the Big East anything. It's true, TCU could have helped the conference... but TCU never showed up. I still maintain that the Big East didn't lose TCU... the Big East never got them. They should have come; they were all but in the door. Then they turned around and went elsewhere.

Again, remind me where UC/UL/USF/UConn were 6 years ago when compared to the teams leaving for the ACC. The league was mocked, it was said UL was the only team even remotely worthy of being invited and that the conference was a joke. In the 6 years those schools have claimed 4 of the 6 BCS bids. Pitt 0, Syracuse 0 and WVU 2. Facts would say adding the BCS label to a program drastically changes everything, and someone that looks rough around the edges now can do major damage with the recruiting and financial boost involved. Dallas, Houston and Orlando are overflowing with talent, and now each of those schools will see the talent level take a big jump. That's plain and simple reality. Would they have taken Boise had TCU stayed? Maybe, but they would not have needed them as they do now. It's a wash. Zero spin involved...

But this originally started because GT said nothing was lost. I'm saying something was most definitely lost here. With the shape of the Big East I feel they could have really used that lost opportunity.
