Cats'Pause 8th Region Preview

hummm Just wondering how WV gets all these players. It would be interesting to see how many of their team has been enrolled there since the Elememtary years.
I am tired of hearing this stuff because everyone wants their kids to go to a good academic school everyone thinks they are a basketball factory.

You are correct, Mack. That is my point though. Most small schools will have a 2 or 3 year run and then struggle for a couple years and then have another good 3 or 4 years. What coach Jones has been able to do for the last 7 or 8 years has been pretty remarkable. I don't think there is another coach in the region that gets as much out of his players as Coach Jones.

Agreed. Coach Jones is in a class of his own in the 8th region.

A factory?

A factory?

I'm going to have to agree. Walton is not a factory. Small schools have ups and downs with talent. Gallatin has had a pretty long run of very good talent combined with a great coach. Walton's talent has been rising steadily the last few years. The next 4 to 5 years they should be competitive with anyone.

A factory?

Walton is more like an assembly line. They take pieces from here and there and put them together. Kind of like when I was a mere child living in Bellevue and I had to "Borrow" pieces from all the bicycles on the block in order to fix my own. It was a sweet ride.

What have they borrowed?

Their assembly line seems to be working!

I think Mack was simply pointing out that it hasn't been in just the last seven or eight years. More like 13 or 14 years, with maybe only a down year or two mixed in.
