September 25, 201114 yr I'm not really for certain, nor are many others probably, but if I had to make my best guess, I would assume that it has to do with wanting to keep the majority of their money where they have been most successful, which has clearly been basketball for a long time. But a successful football program can make way WAY more money than an excellent basketball program.

September 26, 201114 yr I would love this. UK is a known for hoops and what conference would be a better fit? In football UK would compete at a much higher level in the ACC. Two pluses IMO. Now I don't know about financially, they'd likely take a hit.
