Mayweather vs. Ortiz......fixed

Featured Replies

There is no way that the fight between Mayweather and Ortiz wasn't preconceived. Any good fighter that got jabbed like Ortiz did would have been ready for the next punch and the so called knockout punch wasn't much of a hit.

A bit of a definitive thread title when its nothing more than your opinion.

Ortiz didnt get hit with a weak jab, he got hit with a solid hook which could very easily rock him. Its very likely that first puch put him in lala land.

Dont even know why people watch boxing anymore, its just not the same as it used to be.

I don't care who you are, even if it was a jab, coming from a top level professional fighter...if you aren't looking it's going to stun you for a second. And that second punch came quickly, and it was viscious.

I did not watch it live; I saw the replay on You Tube. The two shots that hit Ortiz were solid- there is no doubt those shots would knock him out especially since he did not defend himself from them.

Have to defend yourself at all times, Ortiz didn't and took an early nap.

Ortiz had by far the dirtiest cheap shot. How many times did he expect to apologize and for how long? The ref said let's go and he was still trying to hug it out.

If you don't think those punches were at least enough to knock him down you need to rewatch them.

Can't disagree with you, the last time I watched a boxing match was when Mayweather and De La Hoya fought. I completly agree, boxing is galaxies away from what it used to be and it will take a WHOLE LOT to get it back to what it was in the past. As far as I am concerned, boxing is far away from MMA and has been for some time now.

Boxing, for the most part, is terrible, IMO. It seems to take an act of congress to get the fights that should happen. I just cannot get into it.

Is there a link to watch how this all went down?

I watched it on Youtube. Just start typing in Mayweather Ortiz and it will automatically pop up Mayweather Ortiz Knockout. That's what I did and it pulled up a couple different videos. Would post a link to one but I'm at work and Youtube doesn't work with the proxy.

Larry Merchant is the man!!!

Merchant is worth the watch every fight. I love listening to Larry then rewinding and listening again. One thing is for sure, Mayweather is a loose cannon. The chip on his shoulder is so big you can see it from outer space. HBO does such a good job with their 24/7 production I almost bought the fight, glad I didn't. The Mayweather Pac fight has to come to fruition.

This fight wasn't fixed. Ortiz just messed up big time. Can't wait to see the replay on HBO.
