I’m going to guess that most of the posts are from St. Joe and St. Mary alums and/or parishioners. Traditionally those two schools have sent many kids to both NCC and BB so there is that kind of rivalry. I had siblings that went to BB and I went to NC and another sibling went to OLP. My nieces and nephews have gone to both schools (mine attend NCC) so I’m sure this is common throughout the posters on this thread. Trust me, at the family gatherings if BB beat NCC in anything I hear about it!

Not entirely true! I personally know of someone that both parents attended HHS and live in Ft Thomas and sent their child to NCC while the siblings all went or go to HHS as we speak. Happens all the time! Same could be said about an NCC family having a kid at HHS while the entire family went to either NewCath or Notre Dame Academy. This also is happening as we speak!

 

If I'm not mistaken, the sibling that went to NCC chose to go there; it's not like they were encouraged to do so.

I'm guessing that a lot of the kids outside of Ft. Thomas that go to HHS and play football are there because they played in the FTJFL. Playing in that league, you can't help but drink the kool-aid and want to be a Highlands football player when you grow up no matter where your parents attended school.

Ben Ziegler has family ties to NCC as well since his uncle went there. It's not like HHS was his destiny.

I have 4 kids that attend, attended or will attend 4 different high schools in Campbell County. As you can see, I'm a big believer in sending your child to the school that fits them no matter where it's located.

Not too close to this specific situation but heard that is the case with these two kids, that they were never really considering NCC or Brossart because their parent(s) were from Highlands, but I understand what you are saying.
