You say thanks now, wait till you see his fee

Would Beechwood fans welcome Eckstein ? What about Ludlow's coach?

I think Eckstein would be great choice, not only because I believe he is a great motivator as well as tactician, but because his system and style would be a perfict fit for what we know as BEECHWOOD FOOTBALL. With that said, I don't think it will ever happen. For one, he just got to Bellevue and I'm sure is happy there. Two, It makes too much sense. and Three, too much personal baggage that people around here still remember. A program like Beechwood can afford to be choosey.

What about Hensley?

It will be interesting to see who gets the job. I can't imagine a choice that will make everyone happy. There will be thrilled people and angry people no matter what. I personally would not want to be on that committee. Also, even if the principal has the power to make the final choice, I can't imagine him disregarding the opinions of the members. That would be taking on a whole lot of heat!

Bingo. Even if they hired one of the five NFL coaches axed this week, or hired Pete Carroll or Weiss, or the head coach of DeLaSalle high school in CA someone would find something to complain about.

I'm curious what questions will be asked of candidates in the interview/screening process.

What about Hensley?

IMO, like I said, a program like Beechwood can afford to be choosey. I'm not sure coach Hensley has proved that he is what they expect in a head coach. Not knocking him, just saying that they will probably go with an insider or a proven entity. Like I said, it's just my opinion.

I'm sure Coach Eckstein is happy to be at Bellevue but with that said if he were to be offered the Beechwood job it would be a no brainer. Good bye Bellevue. No offense to Bellevue they had a nice year and from time to time their program will be up and at times down. That is just the way it is at the small Class A river town schools. Beechwood on the other hand is a Class A powerhouse that would pretty much bring Coach Eckstein full circle. Also as was mentioned I believe as was stated earlier he would be the type of coach that would be a very nice fit at Beechwood. With that said, I don't think Beechwood would hire him. People just won't forget. Too bad.

Anyone know who applied - I have a name from Ohio I want to throw out there, but only if someone knows for sure

Committee, coshmittee-Bob Burnett will get it if he wants it.

I heard that Bob Schneider applied for the job! :jump:

Since no one has come forward to say who has applied, I can see saying that Burnett will get it hands down. There could be a coach applying from out of state that has coached at a college or with NFL experience, etc. Look at the Bryan Station job in Lexington. Who would have thought that a coach from Colorado would apply and get the job.

Apparently no one that knows anything is talking since we have no one post who has applied. Does anyone know?

The fact that those that know something are not talking is the reason that they know something. As I said before, the committee will be taking this very seriously.

Bob Burnet may get the job (if he has applied). If so, I feel confident that the committee found him to be best suited. It is a shame to think that if he gets the job, many will think he had it all along. That is simply not true.

It would be quite a shock to see an out of state coach come in and get the job. Who knows? I, like everyone else, can't wait to see what happens. May the best man win!

Bwoodfan, I like and respect your approach to this situation. Things will work out when they get worked out. Folks need to be patient. Whomever is selected should deserve the full backing of the program and its supporters. No quicker way to ensure failure (which is in no one's best interests, even those that do not like the choice, because failure would mean total disappointment to the many fine kids in that program) than to immediately start undermining the coach.
