2 fumbles in the red zone... cov caths RB can be a superstar one week and a drive killing machine the next. Why is their no consistency ?

I would like to share in the posts that suggest a few bad breaks are all that separated LaSalle and Cov. Cath., but I did not see it that way. The Colonels' only touchdown came on a fluke pass play deflected by LaSalle at the line of scrimmage and scooped up by Gabe (followed by a great run). LaSalle controlled both lines of scrimmage. The offense showed some spark at various occasions but the defense needs to shore things up in a hurry.

That deflected fluke pass play you speak of was actually a screen play. The colonels had O lineman all over down the field blocking for gabe!

A great post-catch run with great down field blocking. Agreed on all counts. :thumb: But, the pass did clink off a LaSalle D-lineman's forearm before it was scooped up by Gabe.

 

I would have liked to have seen more plays where Gabe had the ball with some space to operate, rather than dives into the middle of a congested line of scrimmage.

I believe it's a different rule than what is used in the NFL.

 

People base all of their rule knowledge on Sunday when Friday and Saturday uses different rules. I used to hear this one guy complain EVERY time when the linemen on a punt ran downfield before the ball was kicked. EVERY punt. Not the rule on Fridays.

I love Gabe and his ability. You are assuming that he was taking the right course when executing the running plays Zone blocking allows lineman to take d-line the way they are going and RB runs to daylight.

Looked like they put #37 of LSHS as a spy on Gabe Saturday morning. He also fumbled the ball twice in the red zone :ohbrother: good reason to keep the rock away from him.
