TOG, I appreciate what you're saying, but grown adults that would risk serious health issues attending a sporting event that they on the own choose to go to is insanity on their part. They need to think of their health first and not watching the game.

 

You did notice them didn't you? Sitting in the stands under that blistering sun/heat without hats, sun glasses or taking precautions with their small children. I honestly and sincerely was more concerned about them, than I was about the players. I have worked far too long with the general public to understand that a lot of people are sheep and just follow and don't think.

 

As I said earlier, I am outside in the heat a lot due to my job but I was too was caught off guard, as to how really, really hot it was today!

You are correct, it was the other #13 that LaSalle had on their roster Bouldin who scored! Still can't understand why players like Capano and Bouldin share a number, while there are players who will never see the field not sharing a number!

First, lights must be installed on Wooten Field. It is no longer a question of like or need but as of today, it has become a safety issue and I am not just talking about the players on the field! Quite frankly, I was more concern about the fans in the stands, some who are quite elderly and the small children who were attending the game, than the players themselves. If this game had been continued, I honestly think there could have been some very nasty health issue in the stands and remember there is no such rule in Ohio and there wasn't such a rule all that many years ago in Kentucky either!

 

Covington Catholic HS has been an outstanding neighbor to the Community of Park Hills over the past 60 years or so that the school has been located in Park Hills and yes I know a lot of the owners are still living in the same homes they purchased prior to CovCath having a football field but a lot of those same owners sit in their back yards and watch those games be it football or soccer and have for years and years.

 

I think it's time for the Community and CovCath to come to an agreement to allow lights to be installed with measures taken to minimize the nuisance to the neighbors. I think limiting night Football/Soccer games to just CovCath HS games and agreeing to start games no later than 7pm could work for all. I also think putting the sound system on the current visitors side of the field would help keep the noise down as the sound would carry away from the homes.

 

In talking to some of the neighbors, I can understand their concern about CovCath allowing club or youth teams be it for football. soccer or even baseball to rent the fields out for night games and the trouble those games could bring.

 

I think Mr. Rowe should sit down with the City Council and the neighbors and I honestly think a workable solution could be worked out to the benefit of all!

No. I admit I am a homer, but I do know enough about football to know that, if it is coached correctly, this is not a disaster for CovCath. If Boone, or anyone else, sees it that way, woe be onto them. LaSalle is GOOD and CovCath made mistakes that are correctable.

Lets face it the first team CCHS faced this year that was any good they got ROLLED in the 1 half. I am just glad we don't have to hear any more how good they are. Campbell is awful and Dixie well enough said there.

Look at the stats....CCH shot themselves in the foot, they had one of those mornings. It felt like a scrimmage game at 10 AM where once a few special teams plays botched everything, and the heat kicked in these 16 and 17 year olds couldn't put their best foot forward. Most of them were battling heat exhaustion or cramps by the 2nd quarter. Their 2006 Championship team was down like 35-3 at halftime against Bishop Watterson....it happens. It is a meaningless loss to a Ohio team that would've thumped anybody today who gave them so many gimmies.

You're wrong on Highlands.

 

There is NKY "athleticism" and then there is true "athleticism."

 

Tell me where you see the D improving in the 10-game series against LaSalle who cannot pass nearly as well as Highlands. How much can tackling improve in a few weeks? Who guards Sheehan who is as fast as the LaSalle receivers? We had a DB turn his head and stop running with the receiver today on a fly pattern. Fortunately, the ball was overthrown or it was 6. PT is not missing that throw. It's not the first time the kid has used this "technique." I saw it against Campbell but it, too , was overthrown or it was 6.

 

This is a solid team by NKY standards in a year when NKY is down overall. Really good teams with good athletes (today was the first one we've faced) expose our lack of speed/tackling/technique. Dave Wirth is a good coach. He's not a magician.

Well the thread "says" LaSalle 41, CC - 10....you're the one that alluded that it says something else........what's the deal. Why is there a major separation from T, X, and HHS and almost everyone else? WHY? It hasn't always been this way.
