The run game was stunningly bad. Also not Newton's fault.

If Mossakowski couldn't beat out Newton in practice, then he is certainly not a big loss. Perhaps he had "way to many ranking stars" too.

UK has the worst QB in the SEC.

Maybe not entirely, but if the passing game were working better, isn't it reasonable to suggest that it might have opened up a little more later on? I think the entire offense shares some responsibility for the run game.

Newton also needs to learn how to stand up, falling down like that is absurd. 3 INT's wasnt the WR fault.

The highlight of the night for me were the unis of both teams. Loved them.

How sad is that? This is going to be a long season.

Looked up Ryan's numbers from tonight on Northwest Mississippi CC site and it said his numbers were 20-37-1 for 443 yards with 5 TD's He also ran in two 1 yard TD's himself.

The worst thing that happened in my opinion was the players mouthing back at Joker after being reprimanded....saw this from several players....Joker better get a hold on this team real quick!!

WKU IMO played not to lose instead of playing to win. For example in 2nd quarter on 3rd and 7 before the missed the FG the ran power of tackle. Why not give you mobile QB a chance to make a play. To me I thought that cost them in the long run.

 

WKU could have easliy had 17 points first half.

 

As for UK - I hate the 3-4 defense. I am tired of hearing about 11 starters back on defense. They are 11 guys who could play defense last year. Just means they are back and can't play defense this year.

Newton was 7 of 18 with 3 picks.

 

That's a 30% interception/total catches ratio and a 43% interception/UK reception ratio. That's the way I like to look at it..
