I know that he is only a Sophmore but how come NO one is talking about Corey Farris. He has a good arm and a great bat probably led BC in average and i believe hit 4 or so homeruns for them. Ill give Brann the best right now but dont be suprised if Corey is better than him at the end of the year.

Champs05, I have to agree. It will be interesting to see how Cory develops this year. I'm sure a lot are not sold on him because he is still very young. He still has a lot to learn but plays well above his age. He was one of Boone's leading hitters. Cory is a very quite person. He is not one to say much about his performance good or bad. He just likes to play. Here are a few stats I was able to get from last year for Boone and Royals-18 summer team.

60yd - 6.74, C-pop - Consistent 1.98-2.1 best 1.93

Boone: 122(AB) .377(Avg) 34® 46(H) 9(2B) 3(3B) 6(HR) 34(RBI) 11(BB) 23(K) 4(HP) 14(SB)

10 games w/Royals-18: 31(AB) .387(Avg ) 7® 12(H) 2(2B) 1(3B) 7(RBI) 3(BB) 5(K) 6(SB) 6(SBA)

Farris is one of the top 5 athletes (any grade) in NKY right now.

I hope Alex gets on Varsity this year... I know one of the reasons why he left Ludlow was to go to Holy Cross to get better coaching and to play with his teammates from knothole.. But after watching the freshman coach he played under last year at Holy Cross I believe he would have been better off staying at Ludlow. The Holy Cross freshman baseball coach was HORRIBLE. Alex would have been better off staying at Ludlow because he would have been starting varsity as a freshman and getting very good varsity experience. Also he would have gotten more of a chance to pitch on a consistent basis which would have made his control alot better. When he has control of his pitches he is very hard to hit because he throws hard.

I don't know if he would've stater varsity. Coach Highfield was pretty set with Chase King at second and York at short.

Im sorry there but I seen the team play last year, he would have started. Just because they had those positions doesn't mean he wouldn't have been starting somewhere else. He could have played third or outfield. When York was pitching which was often he could have been at short. He would have been one of the 3 best hitters in the lineup and one of the best fielders. Not to mention the fastest on the team. So if he would have not have been starting there would have been something wrong which for some reason could have happened though.

I believe someone in NKY that is ready for a breakout year is Austin Monroe from Pendleton County. He is a centerfielder with some of the best speed I have ever seen. I watched Pendleton play a couple of times last year and he really impressed me. He has power and can hit for average. Watch out for Monroe.

Dustin is good i know he was a part of the Ky. Royals during the summer. Anyone know why he did or where he ended up playing summer ball for?

Kyle York of Ludlow should be one of the best around. He is a great hitter and a great shortstop and pitcher as well.

Alex Weber of Holy Cross is a name people should be listening for as the season goes on.

I understand your support of Alex Weber FC, and I hope for the very best for him at HC but if he isn't starting for HC then how would you expect him to crack Ludlows starting lineup. Ludlow a team that has been to the Regional Tourney the past 2 years winning the District Championship 2 years ago. A team that I know you were a member of. You claim Alex went to HC because of better coaching but you now claim the freshmen coach was horrible. Bigstud a very knowledgable HC follower and someone who knows Alex well says he will be lucky to be on HC's varsity. I hope he is but I think the thing that dismays me is the ocasssional shots regarding coaching at Ludlow. I mean what is there to argue with a coach who has taken his team to the regional tournament the last 2 years. The new Ludlow coach has some big shoes to fill IMO and I wish him the best.

Quite frankly anuone who questions Coach Highfield's ability has some other agenda than quality of coaching. Coach Highfield did a magnificent job and Beau Brake will be a very worthy replacement ther.

I don't believe he played anywhere after leaving the Royals. Not completely sure what happened there.

What district is Ludlow in now. Because i do believe that they swapped with Beechwood in the 33rd District. And will the competition leave with them with any better of chances going to the tournament more.

While I had not considered that Beechwood and CCH would now be in the same baseball district, I would assume that they would. That's interesting and makes for some added excitement.

Correct me if i am wrong but i heard Detkas from Highlands is going to the University of Tampa to play ball. So is he that good, I know nothing about Tampa but im sure they are D-1. So is Detkas considered the top player. IMO i do not think so but is he?
