CCH is only returning one pitcher with experience.....Blesser

I can assure you that Covington Catholic's pitching, while it may be an unknown right now, will be fine. It seems that Coach Krumpelbeck could have anybody throwing strikes after 2 weeks of practice.

Best defensive catcher you've seen? Did you not see the rock behind the plate at ludlow last year? Ricky Shackelford was the best defensive catcher i've ever seen and was a real threat at the plate too.

I like Shack, but he's far from the best catcher I've ever seen. Heck, he's not even the best catcher in NKY in the past 5 seasons. Jeff Wera, Dustin Alvey & Scott Scudder were all very good catchers & much better at the plate.

Does anyone know where Scudder, from Lloyd, is playing?

Ill take Chris Brann at catcher.

Good choice if were talking defense.

Scudder is at Cumberland College in Williamsburg KY

On a side note, Alvery will redshirt this year due to a torn labrum.

Brossart's Kyle Kramer can play with any of these. Great glove, big arm, good bat, great baserunner and a nose for the position. Really in command behind the plate!!

He is going to have a break out year offensivly to. You will hear a lot about him this year as well as Scott as a hole.

All the names mentioned are good ones. Here are just some names (including some already mentioned) I've seen and expect big things from this year:

Conner - Shane Taylor, Ricky Harkins, Chris Eder

Boone - Kurt Kordenbrock

Beechwood - Curley, Pat Muth, Sawyers, Chas Moore

Ryle - Wagner, Humphrey

Dixie - Geoff Strong

Ludlow - Kyle York

Brossart - Kyle Kramer

Scott - Chris Conley, Brann, Best, Derek Martin

NewCath - Scott Gessenhues

Highlands - Jackson Ader

Newport - Matt Atkins, Billy Wolfenbarger

Holy Cross - Ryan, Scott Baker

CovCath - Bleser and several others that escape me right now

St. Henry - Shanks

There are a number of very good players out this year. Some will shine, some may not. I think all these kids, and of course many many more, are worth keeping an eye on.

I'll assume the lack of a "Corey Farris" mention was an oversight.

I would add Jon Swanson and Arrin Bush under Scott.

If you're going to talk about Boone then you need to add Andy Dietz and Cory Farris. Dietz(senior) will be one of the best pitchers in the 9th this season and Farris(Sophmore) will open many eyes this season catching and at the plate.

Doesn't Dixie have a couple new players?
