Violence Downtown Cincinnati

Featured Replies

Me and my girlfriend was downtown last night at the Taft Theatre to watch her son fight at a MMA event. We was waiting for his fight so we walked down by Fountain Square to a bar and have some drinks. Cops where every where it almost looked like a riot down there. When we left the bar we walked through a big crowd and we here a scuffle and gun shots people running every where it was crazy! Then we seen some young guys trip a roller bladder.. They should have a cop on every block down town it was horrible!

My wife in I ventured up from the ville about 11 years ago to spend a birthday weekend. I have to say, it is spooky after dark. Dirty, dark and not enchanted. I will stay here next time. No shopping, nothing to brag about.

Oh Come On! Downtown Cincy is not that bad! And compaired to other big cities it's very safe!

I'd take Boston over Cinci any day of the year, and especially on St. Patty's day.:ylsuper:

If you was walking through that crowd you would think differently. I was surprised me and my girlfriend didn't get attacked it was crazy.

Please, explain.

ALSO, almost all murders in Cincinnati are drug related, don't deal or buy drugs downtown and you are VERY SAFE!

100 plus people running at you not sure who has a gun.

Well, I see your point there, but anywhere there is a shooting you have people doing the same, running around taking cover and not sure who if any has a gun.
Please, explain.

Sounds alot like Louisville except instead of downtown, it is the West End.

So so sad. My heart breaks for this kid. 16 yrs old. Where were the parents to ask him, "Where are you going tonight? Who are you hanging out with? And stay away from guns." Where was any kind of guardian or concerned adult to ask this child those questions? Poor kid never learned about "Jiminey Cricket" and "let your conscience be your guide"?

This happens time and time again in different forms from mob scenes at State Fairs to incidents like this. The Moral Compass has been lost.

My friend reports the same thing you guys who were ther are saying. It was very much like a riot, and started with two rival groups coming at each other in the middle of the street, with guns involved.

Why did the officer drop the gun that close to the kid than call for help?

Do what the cops say and you won't get yourself hurt.

I tuned into Lincoln Ware this morning . His callers are no different than any others. They want to know where these kids got these guns and where the parents are.

One lady said to bring the National Guard into any neighborhood that has high crime rates and start frisking every kid on the street. Extreme , sure, but it shows how desperate people are.
