uk#1fan
Me and my girlfriend was downtown last night at the Taft Theatre to watch her son fight at a MMA event. We was waiting for his fight so we walked down by Fountain Square to a bar and have some drinks. Cops where every where it almost looked like a riot down there. When we left the bar we walked through a big crowd and we here a scuffle and gun shots people running every where it was crazy! Then we seen some young guys trip a roller bladder.. They should have a cop on every block down town it was horrible!
Birdsfan
There was a police involved shooting. According to current news reports, a man was being frisked when he pulled out a gun. The officer was forced to shoot him in self-defense. This happened right in front of one of my best friends, and she witnessed the whole thing. The man fell, practically, at her feet. There is a lot more yet to come out about the story. There's supposed to be a press conference, either today or tomorrow.

halfback20
Hopefully no police or innocent civilians were injured.
HammerTime
Typically it is not like that downtown obviously. I have never felt scared walking around. Sounds like a terrible situation.
SportsGuy41017
Want to hear a joke? A mother of the person involved in Friday's police shooting is demanding to know why the police shot her son 9 times (it was actually 7 times, the other two shots were her sons). I don't know, MAYBE the fact that a police officer on a bicycle confronted him and tells him he is an officer (plus he is on a police bike) and the guy pulls out a gun and fires twice on the officer? THAT, MAY have something to do with her son being shot 7 times! She should be thankful she still has a son! If the officer was a better shot he wouldn't be here at all! When/If her son recovers MAYBE she should ask him 1) Why did he have a gun and 2) Why was he stupid enough to fire at a police officer?
SportsGuy41017
16 year old dies after officer shoots him. http://www.wcpo.com/dpp/news/region_central_cincinnati/downtown/reported-shooting-near-fountain-square Interesting, it seems that the 16 year old victim was not the suspect with the gun? If you read the article, they said the officer noticed a "man" with something near his waist, and during the search the "man" presented a firearm. (Man, not boy/teen/male) After naming the 16 year old who died from the gunshot, they say "The suspect's identity and condition have not been released." I am sure you knew a lot of this, and maybe even more, since your friend was right there, WOW! What a shock to see that in front of you! Luckily the officer shot the one who pulled the gun! What the heck is a 16 year old doing with a gun anyway? A few times so far this summer I have been there on a Satuday night as they have music there until 11PM, So I know it's usually packed! I wonder if these kids were there all a long or were coming back from the Family Reunion thing.

SportsGuy41017
Luckily someone notified the police about people with guns on the Square, as well as luckily the police found them and it didn't end up with an innocent person getting hurt. sportsfan41
Pretty crazy stuff. Down town usually isn't too intimidating, partially due to the good distribution of police presence throughout the area. I will say that there have been a few times though in which I was on the motorcycle and turned down some streets that just as soon as I did I was really in a hurry to get off them asap. KentuckyJoe
Downtown is dirty and gorss. I have worked downtown for 10 years and it is awful!! I was reading online that the guns the teenagers had were seen being passed around at the black family reunion. I believe a few years ago there was a murder at the gathering and one year there was a couple rapes. I know 95% of those who attend mean well, but I think with the serious crime history that has come with this party it is time for the city to sut it down!!
