Follow the clueless Dusty led Reds (Week 1)

Yes, he had food poisoning his last start and felt like he was going to puke the whole time he was pitching. CG shutout today. :D

Wonder if anyone knew besides him?

I was playing around on baseball-reference.com and saw something I didn't believe. The Reds have actually scored 32 more runs than they're allowed, which would normally translate to a 62-55 record and still have them in the race for the division title.

Pittsburgh has a -32 run differential, yet is a half-game ahead of the Reds.

^ The number just don't mean much when you lose every single 1 run game (it feels like) and when you win, you win by 6 runs.

I think this is the best lineup possible for the Reds right now.

Wednesday, August 10, 2011Cueto blames last start on Wings

Johnny Cueto just wasn't his usual self in his last start -- an outing that resulted in a 11-4 Reds loss to the Cubs. The right-hander lasted only 3 2/3 innings in the game after surrendering five runs, seven hits and three walks. And after a little investigative work we may now know what led to his rocky performance -- a dubious serving of chicken wings.

“I had bad chicken wings at the hotel,” the 25-year old told John Fay of the Cincinnati Enquirer. “Felt like I was going to throw up. I’m good now. I’m ready to pitch tomorrow.”

With his stomach ailments now behind him, Cueto (7-5) is set to take the hill again tomorrow opposite Colorado's Jhoulys Chacin (9-8). First pitch is slated for 12:35.

Yeah pretty much.

And who would you prefer at shortstop?

Maybe it's that rodeo clown wig he wears. Could be just a little too tight.

2-0 good guys...

I thought he was safe at 2nd. Hope we see a replay after the commercial.

What happened?

Ball in the hole, SS backhanded with bases loaded and threw to 2nd and was bang/bang with Frazier sliding in. He thought he was safe. Sure looked like it, but I didn't see a replay.

The 3-4-5 hitters strike out looking. Can't win if you don't swing the bat.

^ You can if your pitcher doesn't allow any runs. :D
