Just shy of being one month old.

Question for you younger BGP'ers, as I walked about this historic site I felt a strong connection to the event. I could feel the importance of standing on the street near this "X". I lived for years with the conspiracy theorist etc. Can not tell you how many times I have seen the zapruder film. I have often wondered how this changed the course of history.

Do you younger posters have strong connections to this event or would it be like me standing in Ford's theatre? No big deal.

My Dad was ten-years-old when this happened. But I've always wanted to see this area & it would be a very big deal to me.

And FWIW, Clyde, I had you pegged as a crotchety 65-year-old man. My apologies.

I feel very connected when standing in Ford's Theatre (been there twice), but I would imagine I'd have no real connection at all to JFK's site. I'm not sure how to explain that because I wasn't alive for either, but I definitely feel moved at Ford's Theatre and I don't think I could say the same at all for JFK.

I was a junior at NC and waiting for German class to start when they announced it on the speaker system . Father Klein lead the class in prayer for the President . Then they did the same over the speaker system .

I was in my sixth grade class at Florence Elementary School and teacher was Mrs. Huey she was called out into the hall way and was told. She then came back in the class room and told us. We were all shocked at the news. JD

I was two years old when it happened. Good to see you had me pegged as a 30 year old guy in another thread and Clyde as 65 in this one. :thumb:

In class with the meanest sister who ever taught first grade.

I'm really bad at the "guess the BGP member's age" game.

I was -17 1/2 when Kennedy was shot, and although I haven't been to Dealey Plaza, I did go to Ford's Theatre, and it absolutely blew my mind (no pun intended). I would have to assume that it be the same at Dealey Plaza.

I'm pretty much awe struck just walking around Washington DC, to be perfectly honest. The importance and significance of the history that has taken place in locations like that just really amazes me. Although I haven't been to them, I would assume that I could say the same for Gettysburg, Pearl Harbor and Ground Zero as well.

With all of the other baby angels in heaven waiting to be put on earth. Fastforward 26 years and there I was, A beautiful 8 pound 6 ounce baby boy. Then I grew up.

Love it.

It is an odd feeling that you feel when looking up at that window.
