The only reason Heisey was in the lineup tonight was Gomes getting traded last minute. I say he gives Heisey a few days off to rest his shoulder and maybe just pinch hit him. Since Alonso and Lewis are both lefties it's up to Dusty who he goes with. You know Dusty and how he loves the vets.

Saying a manager isn't any good because he hasn't won a WS is as silly as saying a guy can't be one of the greatest ever because he doesn't have a championship...absurd and lack of understanding team sports. Just as silly as saying being in the top 25 in wins proves that he is a good manager.

Mauch had 2 playoff appearances in 26 seasons and an overall losing record. Most of those guys above Dusty have multiple pennants--that is not an accident, team sports or not.
