From watching him the last decade it seems more likely that he comes across as a likeable guy who has been put in a couple of positions with very good talent and resources and worn out his welcome with his handling of pitchers, musical lineups and steadfast loyalty to mediocre veterans. He was not a bad guy to bring into the situation that he was brought into because players seem to like him and with a young team it really didn't matter if he cost them a few games here and there as long as he didn't let the young pitchers get ragged out. Now, however, given the Reds limited financial resources they can't afford to have a manager costing them games because they have enough talent to win the division--but not by much.

Baker's record has improved every year in Cincy, except for this season, likely. Brenly has an excuse but Baker doesn't? What makes him a great manager? I believe they have more talent than any team in the NL Central. Blame who you want. There is plenty to go around, but I believe Dusty is ultimately the one to blame. That's why he must go.

I laughed because you believe Dusty is, but you don't believe Brenly is. 303 wins in only 3 1/2 seasons. Seems to me he's on pace for over 1500 wins in 17 seasons.
