He is Dusty's boy this year.

It was made clear last year Dusty is not making any personnel decisions. This is on Walt's shoulders and he needs to cut him.

Not like it matters. They only way they can get baserunners anyways is by hitting it to Pena. 3 hits against Freddy Garcia is beyond pathetic.

After watching today, I believe this team is done. I really don't think they care. They have no leadership in Baker and who they look to be their leader, Votto, is the first person to show no leadership and just has a laid back don't care attitude. This team has no excitement at all. Maybe they really do miss Gomes.

If they don't make some personnel changes, and fast, I agree. Rolen is awful, Gomes sucks, Lewis is terrible, Renteria & Janish are two of the worst MLB players in the league. That's 5 of the teams 13 position players that have no business being on a major league roster at this point. Can't win with that.

Yes.

He's been done since the All-Star break last year IMO. They need to just cut ties with him and see if Francisco has any chance of becoming an everyday player.

Rolen did win a gold glove last year, right? I know his offense went down big in the second half of last year. Maybe the first half of last year was a great older player catching lightning in a bottle one last time. It is starting to look that way. I think he still plays very good defense but the Reds need his bat to come around better and if that happens it helps Votto, Bruce and the whole lineup.

Gold gloves are not about defense all that much any more. And you're correct, he still plays good defense when he gets to the ball. That just only happens now if it's within 2 feet of either side of him.

He is still above the league average in range.

Wow, now Votto is swinging through 95 mph fastballs down the heart of the plate...

Talk about catching a potential break if you're Mike Leake....

Gardner LF

Granderson CF

Swisher RF

Cano 2B

Posada 1B

Nunez SS

Pena 3B

Cervelli C

Garcia P

Key word - Potential. Like T.B. just pointed out. The Reds are facing the bottom of the Yankee pitching rotation with a kid going tonight they got off the Philly 3A team, not even going to see C.C. and cannot score. The Yankees are a beat up baseball team right now but still showing the difference between a top tier MLB team and an "a little above average/good at times" team in the Reds. I was actually thinking the Reds may get 2 of 3 in this series. Top of the 9th now with Mo "game over" Rivera coming in. Looking more and more like a Yankee sweep to me.

And now they come up in the ninth and need 2 off the greatest relief pitcher of all time just to tie.
