Dressman is a sophomore, right? I would say if he starts as a sophomore at WR or DB it means one of two things - either he is a top tier level talent OR there are some issues with team depth. My point is how often does a sophomore start on the varsity at CCH? In your top programs at the 3A level and up, sophomores shouldn't be starting varsity IMO unless they are just that good. You work reps in for the good sophomores where they won't hurt you but you do your best not to start them.

 

Coaches at Cov Cath have had a very close eye on Sam since he was a seventh grader. He's a talent that we don't see often at Cov Cath, and I know it had to have been a very tough decision to put him in a back seat to Bir - although Blake's talent is nothing to scoff at either. As C-Boy78 and I said above though, defensive backs have been a little sparse in the past, so it would be a fairly logical fit for Sam. In short: Yes, a little bit of both.

And I mean started from day one, not someone who got there due to an injury or started a game or two late in the season.

Gee I am so glad a lot of you know what Sam is going to be doing this season already but I spoke to Sam tonight at the St. X basketball scrimmage games (CovCath beat Cin St. X by two but lost to a very good and I mean a very good D1 Ohio school in Springboro and BTW Sam had a pretty good night too) but anyway I asked him what Coach Wirth had in store for him and he told me that he honestly didn't know but he guesses he will find out in about three weeks that is after the dead period is over. Of course Sam wants to play varsity but he as he told me will play anywhere Coach Wirth wants him to!

 

I guess along with Sam, we all will find out in about three weeks! :thumb:

Ahhhhhhh, the good old days. But hopefully with the ship righted the BlueBoys will rekindle the rivalry and we will re-vist some of those old game type matchups where nobody was the favorite going into the game regardless of records and it really didnt matter who won the earlier season matchup.
