WOW! where is the mafia?

Do they still play football in Park Hills?

I say CovCath is last years Ryle.. If the Birds don't watch it the same thing could happen..

I whole heartedly agree. You just know Wirth has been telling his players since the season ended last year that they were a play away from beating Highlands and with hard work, they'll beat the Birds in 2011.

WOW! Really? That's BIG!

Agreed! While the Birds are thinking about Cov-Cath, they had better not overlook Boyle Co. Cov-Cath doesn't play Boyle Co. in the regular season, but I'm sure that they have their calenders circled for Dixie and the Birds.

This thread is too quiet. (The calm before the storm?)

Made men know when they need to stay quiet.

What are made men?

To offer something concrete, I was at the Cov Cath Alumni Social a few months back where Coach Ray spoke. He spoke very personally about his experiences at Cov Cath, about his past dealings with the football team, and about the current state of affairs with the team. Coach Hovan, Coach Fangman, Coach Groneck, Coach Roedig, and Doc Breuggs were also present. To paraphrase Coach Ray, he said that:

-Although he is always excited about football at Cov Cath, he is more excited about this year's team and about the upcoming 2011 season than he has been in any past season that comes to mind.

-2006 season aside, Cov Cath has had trouble living up to their tradition of excellence in the last decade. 2011 WILL present quite a change.

-Cov Cath's schedule for this year creates more opportunity for the team to excel and build on their talents instead of trying to fight 2 or 3 or 4 out-of-state powerhouse teams as they had in years past.

-The O-line will make or break the offense this year. There is enough talent in the quarterback, receivers and running backs to expect a LOT of scoring out of the offense as long as the line steps it up with them.

-This years defense is a defense "built to bust some heads".

Imo it's simple. If the D is strong they can make a run. If not it will be a good but not great season.

I am excited to see Bir with a year under his belt and 25 more pounds on his frame.

The gag order has been lifted, all is right and the Birds are waiting for the blueboys of years gone by! May the rivalry return to old glory days.

Agreed. He had unbelievable composure in the pocket last season. I can't wait to see what he can do now when they get him rolling out and looking to the option.
