Track The NL Central Champion Reds (Week 12)

Agree with Heisey. I don't really know if bringing up a rookie to play short is the answer there. It wasn't too many post ago that some wanted more moves made than that. This team is built around pitching and defense. I say now is not the time to mess around with the roster. jmo

Just so we're clear, you're saying you don't believe Cozart could hit .220 and commit fewer than 12 errors in 70 games at short with the Reds?

No Stubbs in the lineup today. Dusty said he has been planning on giving him Wednesday off for a while now. Looks like we'll see Heisey get his 3rd straight start. Can't remember the last time that happened.

I believe pretty good; hoping that it happens.

Except that Dusty will probably be satisified and play Renteria, Cairo, Gomes and maybe others today.

Sure just when it looks like he cut down on his big swing give him 2 days off to forget what he did well last night. Typical Dusty. He's 26 years old, he doesn't need 2 days off when he's hitting over .300 his last 11 games.

He hasn't had a day off in a while and he didn't do anything to "cut down on his big swing". No big deal.

It's easy to rake on Stubbs. In my opinion, he's simply a kid batting at the top of the order because he can run, yet is more suited for the middle of the lineup. And even pups need a day off. Had the toothpick given him last night off everyone would have been saying it was the right thing after his miserable performance Monday. Now that he mixed a couple of hits in, he's hot and Dusty is a moron. Am I the only one who sees it that way?

Bruce is starting to struggle a little bit as well. I knew he couldn't keep his pace from May but he only have 1 HR and 4 RBI in June.

Rolen batting .208 in June with 4 RBI. Now he did miss a few games but you need to get more out of your cleanup hitter.

I myself have gotten frustrated at times with Stubbs and his K's, but it's not like the Stubbs bashers are saying to bench him or send him down in the lineup. He's clearly the Red's best lead off option, he just needs to shorten up with 2 strikes. When he puts the ball in play, good things happen. It's predictable that he'd get on peoples' nerves because every time you look up you feel like he's striking out.

What's wrong with tomorrow off, why 2 days?

Nope just like with Gomes. He has a couple of good games and Dusty rewards him with 3 games out of the lineup.

No problem with Rolen sitting. I think they should cut their ties with Renteria and get Cozart up here to see what he can or can't do.

He hasn't had a day off in a long time. Only someone with an agenda against Dusty would try to bash him for it.

Gomes is sitting because he sucks. 3 games doesn't change that. That's like saying Cairo getting a start at 1B and having 4 hits, and crying when he's not in the lineup the next day.

Maybe. Maybe he tanks too. Who knows?
