May 25, 201115 yr Janish had a stretch last season where his offense was ok. I'll admit I thought that maybe he'd finally "got it" and could hover somewhere above .250ish then by all means, he's a great option for the Reds at SS. But it ain't so right now.

May 25, 201115 yr Then why did he only pitch 2 innings and throw only 32 pitches his last time out on Monday? Does that make any sense to you? Nothing they've done with Leake makes any sense to me. They drafted him to be a starter and he started off great as a starter. They got worried about his innings (rightfully so) and rather than just letting him keep going until he reached those innings they got him off of a normal schedule so he had no clue when he would start and he proved not to be very valuable out of the pen. He should be a full time starter somewhere all year every year until he builds his arm strength to the point where they feel he can go 200 innings a year. I could see using him out of the pen late in the year if he ever proved he was good out of there but he hasn't. He only pitched two innings because he was coming back 4 days later rather than 5 days later.

May 25, 201115 yr The reds were I think second in the league in runs scored a week ago. The hitting over all has went south in the last week. It will come back. Janish was hitting pretty good until he got his ankle hurt. Then toothpick put him in at the 2 spot and he hasn't been good since. He did hit a screamer last night that the third baseman made a good play on. If everyone else was hitting things would be fine.
