May 16, 201115 yr Just didn't want them to be disgruntled or worse late to part of the concert when they were stuck in traffic on 275.Once we had a taxi let us off at the end of the ramp onto Kellogg Ave, and just walked the few hundred yards. If the traffic is backed up into the bridge, just have the taxi take the next exit, and come in from the east.
May 17, 201115 yr I don't believe there are any hotels in Newport other than the flea bag hotel down by the old courthouse. And you couldn't pay me enough to stay there. There is a new comfort inn in Bellevue that is nice but I would definately stay in Covington.

We usually stay in the left lane all the way and pass Kellog Ave and take the next exit, come in the back way. Typically seems to cut down 15-20 minutes at least.

May 17, 201115 yr Thanks. They don't know the area at all, and were just trying to decide between staying in Covington or staying in Newport. As far as safety goes, both are fine. The Mainstrauss bar area in Covington is nothing to worry about, and there are a couple hotels within a 5 minute walk. Newport, the hotel is a bit farther from the bars (15 minute walk), outside of the Travel Lodge (which I would advise against), but probably a bit nicer (more $$).

May 17, 201115 yr I know they aren't cheap...but how much are beers at Riverbeen. I've been to probably 12+ concerts there and I can't remember? lol

May 18, 201115 yr Anybody going to the concert make sure to get there around 6 and watch my buddies band play on the stage out by the beer both they are really good. They are called The Cef Michael Band they can play some really good country and southern rock!
May 18, 201115 yr The best place to go after the concert is the Newport on the Levee or Ludlow Bromely Yacht Club!
