March 5, 201115 yr Louisville didn't play well enough to win, and still should have. Being doubled up on rebounds is an embarrassment, to say the least. Officiating was skeptical at best, but in no way the reason Louisville lost. The best part, it doesn't even matter. Louisville remains the 3-seed, and this gives them a little humble pie to refocus for the Big East tournament.
March 5, 201115 yr I thought the officiating was terrible both ways. The out of bounds call on UL in the final minute was horrible. I do believe they got the foul at the end right though. What is Knowles thinking ? The lack of an inside game will hurt UL more than it has UK. Fun game to watch.

March 5, 201115 yr Knowles should have known better, but how often is that even called? Not as often as it probably should be. Tough to make that call but I think he got it right. Regardless, Knowles has to be smarter than that. The out of bounds call on UL in the final minute was one of the worst calls I've seen in a while.

They didn't call it then, but they did today. I guess it's the official's discretion. But I've always felt you call the game the same way for 40 minutes. I grow weary of people saying, "Let the players decide, swallow the whistle, etc. etc." No, just call a foul when a foul is committed, regardless if it's the opening minutes or closing seconds.
March 5, 201115 yr The worst officiated game that I have seen this year. Proud of the Cards for their effort for about 39 minutes of action. Preston made two really bad decisions and U of L comes home with an "L".....oh blah dee, no negative impact.

Yes, it was no doubt a fouL but for a official to call that foul some 80 feet from the basket in the closing seconds was "little league" at best. No way imo should anything be called there. Having said that, both teams imo were the victim of poor officiating and U.L. certainly should have had that game wrapped up way before that last second call. WVU kids stuck two huge 3's down the stretch when they had to. They (WVU) made the plays when it counted, U.L. didn't. jmo. I do look for U.L. to do well in the NCAA tourney and Pitino imo had his best coaching job since his years at U.K.. Now, how's that for a fair and balanced assesment from a man that is not a U.L. fan?
