Mike Vick(look at his winning percentage), Donovan McNabb, even Daunte Culpepper enjoyed enough success to sign a 100 million dollar contract.

 

To act as if Cam can't be successful based off the reasons you guys have given so far is just not something I agree with. Let me see his work ethic is all I am saying. He has to put in the work to be successful.

The only red flags you have mentioned have been off the field red flags. You haven't mentioned any on the field red flags. Which would be what? Nothing he has done on/off the field will have him falling below the #9 pick.

As for on field red flags. How about 11-21 with no defense at the combine? Or the fact that no QB has ever been successful coming out of a gimicky spread offense in the NFL. He's never had to read coverage. He looked at one side of the filed and if that wasn't open he ran. If he does that in the NFL he doesn't start 12 games a year becasue he gets destroyed.

Exactly. Brees and Rodgers are two of the best passers in the league and Ben doesn't use speed to avoid the rush he uses size and strenght. I baffles me that people are high on Newton.

Just because Brees doesn't run a 4.59-40 doesn't mean he isn't mobile. He has used his legs to escape a collapsing pocket multiple times, ran for first downs multiple times and is capable of scoring with his legs on a bootleg from inside the 5 yard line. To me that is mobile. Eli, Tom and Peyton can't do that. Neither can many others.

 

And yes, it is a pointless debate because not one time have I disagreed with you about your assessment. I simply said he is projected to go high(which he is) and his success as a qb depends on his work ethic. Oh, and that I would like to see him be successful. How am I even debating you?

I will never understand some people's fascination with the mobile QB. They see an athletic guy that can run, and is entertaining to watch and they act like he's the greatest thing college football has ever produced. Then he gets to the NFL and he bombs. Happens all the time. And please don't give me the Mike Vick garbage. Guy played in the perfect system, and played as well as he could ever dream of playing, and it still wasn't good enough.

"Mobile QB" means absolutely little to nothing. It is about overall pocket presence. Peyton Manning could not out run a cardboard cut-out of himself, but he is seldom sacked because he has great pocket presence and is able to avoid oncoming tacklers.
