Birds jumped out to a 9-4 lead and then got shut down. Crowley was scoreless in 1st half defended by Hightchew. Egan shot well for Highlands scoring 11. Geisler looked good hes definitely POY imo. Holding NCC to 31 pts the final 3 qtrs was impressive for Highlands.

Not too impressive when Highlands only scored 18 points the same 3 quarters!

Giesler was a man amongst boys out on the court tonight.

Highlands may be one of those rare teams who score more points on the gridiron than on the hardwood. Sounds like they're having a tough year.

What kid would change your mind? Curious.............. If you are thinking the Pike kid then you answered your own question already. Giesler is a man amoung boys. Just sayn......

Credit the Breds defense and a good gameplan. They made Highlands work hard for every shot and it caused the Birds to shoot a low %. Doyle is a really good defender who hustles and does the little things you dont see in the book.

 

Geislers ability to play smart defense and swat shots was huge in the paint. A few times Towles had nice position to score or draw a foul but Geislers presence forced him to shuffle his feet twice and miss an easy bunny.

 

I did think that Dean's the Highlands point guard exposed the soph Beuter a little bit by going at him and beating him off the dribble but he had trouble finishing close to the basket last night. Crowley not scoring in the 1st half really hurt and he looked frustrated.

 

NCC is legit but they could use maybe one or two more guys off their bench. They went with a 6 man rotation the entire night and Miller, who started the game, didnt play much at all. This could hurt them if foul trouble becomes a factor.

Hatton is a stud and is only a frosh.. The kid is a scorer..He'll drain them from 3 or take it to the hole.. He might not win POY but he is definately in the conversation..
