They should not be playing Lasalle; otherwise the big school additions and maintaining Dixie makes it a good schedule; no NCC is a surprise.

 

I've always like playing New Cath, although I there was a 5 or 6 year stretch starting around '94 or '95 where the New Cath game was dropped as well. Not sure why you don't think they should be playing LaSalle though. I don't see a problem with scheduling one of the "big boys" from Cincinnati - particularly when, historically, they've played more closer games against LaSalle than they have with most of the other GCL teams they've taken on.

CovCath and NewCath could not find a date to play, nothing to due with one team not wanting to play.

They tried, but because of district play couldn't get it done and La Salle is a very winnable game next year!

They have some returning but they lose their D1 QB , D1 receiver, and I THINK some other D1 players. I think this past team was dominated by seniors.

I kind of figured as much. The New Cath game dropped years back when they added Ryle to their schedule. Boone, Holmes and Conner all used to be regular matchups too (I think Conner and Holmes were always district games as well). Conner went up in division and became an non-district game, Boone has always been non-district, and Holmes was too for the last few years. But yeah, when you've got that many options for non-district competition, it's hard to keep all of the more traditional competitors on the schedule.

 

I do agree with you though...I would've liked making the trip down to Bell County. That was always an exciting playoff game back in the goodle days.

I am glad to see CCH take a step back with their schedule, I think it is a very smart decision by the powers that be.

La Salle loses at least 4 D1 players, and at least 3 others who are very close (D2, D1 aa). They will be good again next year, but won't compete for the GCL South Title and a 3 seed in South West Ohio Division 1 as they did this year.

As of Tuesday at the Cov Cath Sports Hall of Fame, there was still no official word on Conner filling out the schedule, and there was some talk about a Columbus team being fit into the open slot.

Agreed, and St. Charles was a name that was mentioned specifically, but the talk was still about just coming up with "a Columbus team" to play, and not necessarily that one in particular at current.
