Nobody's building anything in the diocese by decree until the diocese reaches a final settlement on the lawsuit.

That and property value around newport has probably tripled in the last ten years, good luck finding enough land for a decent price.

NCC, because Somerset doesn't have the offense to match NCC nor the defense to match NCC. If not for the blocked field goal following the penalty and Pugh's interception deep in Somerset territory, Somerset wouldn't even be playing this week. Somerset is good, and a little bit better than Paintsville on most nights, but they don't have the D to stop NCC nor the O to keep up with NCC. And the home field advantage is gone as well.

NCC by 14+

(And it wouldn't matter if Paintsville had advanced either, the result would still be the same).

Newport has played on it the last three playoff games because technically it is their field, ncc just shares it with them.

From what I understand Newport field is free for them to use and it would cost them to use either Beechwood or Highlands fields. Newport and NewCath have played there for years. Usually if Newport has a home game and NewCath has a home game same Friday -- then NewCath would play on a Saturday.

I think NCC needs to find some property in Newport and build themselves a nice facility. Sharing a field and having to go to different fields to play is ridiculous. Some of you NewCath faithfuls and alumni who have some money need to look into this. If NCC is going to be in the playoffs every year they deserve a facility.

I agree with you -- NewCath students deserve their own field. You would think with all the success they have had with their program they would have gotten a nice facility. In fact the baseball team has a nice facility in Silver Grove KY and I heard that the land was either sold to them for a dollar and/or donated to them. Their alumni made it possible for them by doing all the work to the complex themselves.

Maybe it's time for the football alumni to step up and finally give the Breds (Football Players) their own field.

Wouldn't it have been great for their coach to have broke the record for most wins by a coach. (That was the record -- right?)

It would be amazing for us to have a home field. However, as APNW stated...

Nobody is building anything in the diocese by decree until the diocese reaches a final settlement on the lawsuit.

I think there is more to it than that. Why build a football field? Why have a "home football field but have it still not be at home. There is no room at NewCath for a field to be built. Why waste money to build a hame field that would end up further away than Newport stadium? Here is how I see it. Give it 10 years or so and the land value on the hill will be so high nobody can pass it up. NewCaths land gets sold for more money than we cam imagine, combine with Brossart, build a new school, with the best football field around, somewhere and it wil be called Campbell County Catholic. Think about it. I don't want it to happen but I can see it. Do you know who much the hill would get sold for $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$. If NewCath was that upset about not having a field now they would get one. Whenever there is something the Breds need they always find a way to make it happen just like the new baseball field. Oh and the Campbell County Catholic field will be named Bob Schneider field. Go Bob Go Breds. See you all on Friday. Make sure to find me this week agent.

Agreed!!

Go on and tell your team that. Somerset has no business even making the drive up I-75. Just like in the All-A classic this year, we should just forfeit and save outselves the trouble of getting embarassed. How did that turn out by the way? Newcath is completely without fault and no one could ever beat them. That is why they have won the last 30 Class A championships. They have right? You know what I'm all about wasting sportswriters time. Yeah, maybe Catholic should be the favorite but no one is going to lay down for you--everyone keeps saying Somerset hasn't seen a defense like this but you know what I don't think Bellevue or Beechwood has an offense like Somerset. Newcatch should win but if you think you can win by just showing up you're sadly mistaken.

Until someone from Region 4 steps up and beats the teams up North this will continue, maybe this is the year?

:sssh:  :thumb:

'Breds roll.

Tupac,

Didn't you say the same thing last spring during the All A Classic? Are you sure this time because last time you missed it by a little bit.

"...everyone keeps saying Somerset hasn't seen a defense like this but you know what I don't think Bellevue or Beechwood has an offense like Somerset"

You're right, their offenses are better! And what about Lexington Christian? End of discussion - the breds defense will show up to play on Friday night....Not to mention their offense! :thumb:

By the play of NewCath last week, I will have to go with them this week. I must admit, I have little knowledge of Somerset, but they obviously must have a good team. I still predict NewCath.
