Russell is the underdog???? WOW hows that? I believe Russell has the better

record, the better power rating, and rated above Belfry.

I would think that Russell would be the underdog. They are up against the two time State Champs.

Belfry will win, nothing else will be accepted

:sssh: opps did i say that :sssh: yes i did..

Russell was at a 13-0 peak last year if I'm not mistaken...before running into a buzz-saw LOL...

That was last season, this is this season!!!!!!!! :fire:

Just meant that being at your peak may not be enough!

LOL welp you thought wrong..

last year and the year before arn't this year..

if it was the 03 or 04 squad, then yeah, i could say Russell is underdogs..

but this is a new season, this is the 05' squad. They've got to make a name

for thier own. they are up against a awesome Russell team, rated better

than thierselves. They've still got something to prove, to show the state

why they shouldn't be rated behind Russell.. So Russell isn't the underdog.

Not only that, but almost everyone but Belfry fans, think Russell will defeat Belfry.. so i think they should play with a chip on thier shoulder

We've come so far, let's make it through tomorrow with this thread still open everyone.

Belfry will suprise alot of fans Friday ngiht. I know this Russell is a good team but it will take a perfect game for them to beat Belfry. Belfry is ebtter on the lines than Russell and that will be the difference. Rusell will move the ball some on Belfry they have good misdirection this year and their QB impressed me with his speed. I just think if Belfry coems to play they are the better team this year. It will be close with Belfry pulling away with a late TD to make it 27 to 13 Belfry. Hope it is a cleanly played injury free game and goodluck to whoever wins in the state. Now lets go Pirates.

Belfry 40

Russell 28

Will Belfry utilize the option more in this rematch?

I just hope the Devils can get the game to the fourth quarter. If that happens they have a good chance of pulling the upset. Belfry has not played a close game in a long time.

Will Belfry utilize the option more in this rematch?

Im no coach or players so I really dont know but I look for the quick hitters to be Belfrys bread and butter this game. But whateveer is working is what Belfry will go with so who knows lol.

Well, I don't see why it's so important to be claimed the underdog

because we all know that these are two good teams, but it is im-

possible to tell how the two teams match up for certain for they

haven't played one another. What we do know, however, is that

both teams will be ready to play, and the final outcome will have

nothing to do with the predictions made here, or the general con-

census of who is going to win.

This game will come down to the Wing-T vs. the Pirate D and the

Wishbone vs. the highly touted Devil defense. Hopefully, there will

be a large contingent from both schools that will make up one of

the most well attended games in the history of Henry R. Evans Sta-

dium, and a memorable game will be put on by both schools that

can go down as one of the greatest in Kentucky High School History.

I think that it is great to see a once dead rivalry renewed

in a pair of state semi-finals with Louisville on the line, and I sin-

cerely hope that the game lives up to the hype and the history of

these two schools.

The lights over at Henry R. Evans Stadium are off now and the ground

has frozen over in the icy November air. Years of victory, heart-ache,

excitement, and all events there, both recorded and forgotten, add

play-off atmosphere. In a little over 19 hours there, on a field that

is now resting before its final contest of the year, and before its

isolation for 7 months from the beating of cleats that rip at its form

that give it its character, two of the best teams in Kentucky will

finally conclude this argument that has captivated us for nearly all

of the past seven days. One team will then have a chance to become

the Champion of Kentucky Division AA football, while the other will

suffer defeat, with the seniors of them remembering all the things

they could have done, until time palliates the pain, for time may

not heal completely all wounds.

Good luck to both teams, and to those making a trek to the Hill,

have a safe trip.

Will Belfry utilize the option more in this rematch?

Belfry does run more option this year.

It was said that Belfry is stronger on the line than Russell. I disagree. But we will find out tonight for sure.

You are right, FBALL, Belfry runs more option and a little less of the veer and belly than last year. They are a wishbone/option team with big play capability. They are not quite as big or strong up front as they were the last couple of years, but they are fundamentlaly sound and in good condition.
