How would Frank Vicini be for a possible canidate? He had some of the best offenses that the mountains have seen up at Cumberland with limited talent. At Whitley he would have 4 times the amount of players to choose from. He is very high octane. His offense makes Jim Black's look balanced (in which it deceptively is).

It's a done deal and will be official early next week!

Looks as though topgun broke the story before the Corin Times did. Hit the nail right on the head, as did my sources about 2 months ago.

It was news guys, get over it. Seems as though that mostly the only player quoted was Rider and he is probably 19 YO. The paper, Les and Chris were doing their jobs. Sounds as though Campbell went out on his terms to me, from what I've heard all year this was the plan. Campbell stays on as AD, Rains replaces him, we'll see...

Keep up the good work Les and Chris. You guys bring much more "flavor" to the TT than ever. The News Journal, ppphhhttt they get to get a feel for the news before it's printed  I have no use for a weekly (weakly) paper that is politically driven as much as the NJ.

Chief, mastermind and Thunderstruck.......send a letter to the editor or don't read it, I'm sure they won't miss you.

No one really knows but Anderson and Campbell....But Coach Campbell basically said in the paper it came down to getting kids out and keeping them out. They { Super } I guess didnt feel he was doing a good job at that.

Thanks.

As far as i'm concerned the newspaper did their job by getting the story , no matter who it came from, thats the way it works. If coach Campbell didnt want it to leak out he shouldn't have told anyone especially a kid.Nobody that i know can keep a secret.

I dont remember 1 artcle before the official resigned or 1 player ask to comment before or after....if I, m wrong some let me know.

Quit crying it is news and it was a good job getting it to the public. That is why people subscribe to the paper. I think both articles were very good, the players and Campbells statement.

As I had stated before I felt the 1st article was tacky and unfair. So I choose not to get over it, especially when people tell me I need to.However I do appreciate true hound being worried about my feelings. I think everyone on here needs to do a better job of stating their opinion and not attacking other for having one.

Good luck to Coach Campbell.

I wonder what rumors....and they are just that at this point....people are hearing on who may be a possible replacement? I have heard some obvious ones like Jim Black, and Paul Rains, I wonder if anyone has thought of Tom Bryant at Pineville? Just curious.

I had mentioned Bryand along with Roger Gentry from Univer.of Cumberlands on an earlier post....and also Mike Whittaker...Any of these would be good choices but there also may be someone else no one is thinking about right now that may be looking for a change..any other ideas???????

Will Coach Campbell, as the A.D., be in on the selection process of choosing his replacement? Will that hurt any of the possible candidates who have been mentioned in this thread?

Thanks guys. Kudos goes out to Chris Parsons on the story. He did his job.

I agree that it may not shed the greatest light between the fans and writer. However the bigger picture is that the writer of the article was simply doing his job. Coach Campbell built Whitley from nothing to a very good overall and even great program some years. Rumors of his resignation/termination is news! There is no bones about that. Chris Parsons was simply doing his job and I do not fault him one bit.

Allways looking out for you :thumb:
