Just looking for some updates on the Frosh team. When does practice start up again? When do they start going in pads? Heard that they have a few 7 on 7's set up and was wondering when and where those were? Interested to hear and see how this group is progressing.

I keep hearing over and over the "new addition" is defiantly going to be a "game changer" I believe a 7 on 7 is scheduled for next week against Beechwood, not sure on the date/time/location.

I am pretty sure Hoge, Urlich and Abner will be gone playing in the USA vs World football game up in Canton Ohio next week..

Would love to hear some thoughts on last nights 7 on 7 against Beechwood.

So the Beechwood Freshmen team and the Highlands Freshmen team held a seperate 7 on 7 against one another, or was it part of the Varsity 7 on 7?

Just freshmen.

How did each team look?

Hoge , Urlage, and Abner all participated last night. They were driven down from Canton for the night and went back after the 7v7 was over.

So how did the 7 on 7 turn out?

According to my son Birds won big! But he does like to embelish a bit, LOL.

With the first group from each team,

BHS scored twice in their first set of 15 plays, maybe once in their next 15. I think HHS scored 4 times in their two sets of 15 plays.

The second groups for each team got 10 plays- BHS didn't have much success, HHS scored 3 times in 10 plays.

Beechwood has a huge tight end ( about 6'4" ) that will be the main target for their passing game.

Highlands looks like they may use multiple receiver sets with Feggins being the main target.

That is 8th grader Braden Combs who was the starting qb for the frosh last year..He is a definately a big boy. He is also a very good baseball and basketball player..

What is going on with the baby birds? Any more 7 on 7's scheduled? Have the trio of Hoge, Urlage and Abner returned to practice with the Birds? How did things go for them in the all-star game that they played in. Are they still carrying 50+ kids on the roster or have some started to drop off? Things are rather quiet with the big Trinity game only about a month away.

I know they won and Hoge intercepted a pass in the game...

Next scheduled 7 on 7 is Thursday morning at HHS. The Scott High Eagles are the opponent.

I think the fact that this thread has gotten over 10,000 views is simply amazing.
