Hartline suspended

Featured Replies

Joker Phillips announced that Mike Hartline is suspended for the UK Bowl game. Morgan Newton is the likely starter.

Plus, Defensive Lineman Elliott Porter will transfer closer to home.

It's the right move. Past precedent had already been set. You hate to see this happen, but Hartline can only blame himself for getting into such a bad position.

At least this happened early. We now have a month to practice with Newton & crew.

I wonder how many UK fans could be charged with public intoxication and disorderly conduct on game days. I would say a significant amount. This probably had to be done but Hartline gets a raw deal here.

If he were able to play next year, I wonder if Joker woul've been so quick with the hook. Is Hartline's associaton with the team over now or will he be able to accompany the team to the bowl, I wonder?

Good riddance.

Probably a few "if" they were guilty of disorderly conduct at 3 am and possibly assault. BIG difference.

I'll preface my comments by saying Hartline made a bad judgement call and deserves the punishment he got -- both legally and from a team standpoint. But I'll also guess that his girlfriend better be the marrying kind because I have a feeling that's who the disturbance centers around.

Will you all still support the suspension when all charges are dropped. I don't even like Hartline as a player but this sounds to me like a love triangle situation with too much alcohol mixed in. I don't think he really even did anything wrong. A college student got drunk and took a cab home and IMO if the third wheel wasn't angry and called the police no one even knows. The police report indicates the woman claiming assault had no visable evidence to show it. :idunno:

If I punch you in the gut, what marks does that leave? If the answer is none, does that mean I didn't assault you?

You guys have the story all wrong. Hartline deserves all the punishment he gets. PM me.

Ever since he threw his teammates under the bus 3 years ago I have felt Hartline has lacked the maturity a man in his position should have, I think this is further proof that supports that thought...

I'm guessing that a man with the capabilites of starting in the SEC as a QB would leave some sort of a mark if he punched a 100lb girl no matter where the blow landed. I may be wrong but the circumstances reported didn't seem to be worthy of a suspension to me.
