We can agree to disagree then. I thought Johnson Central, Christian County and Bell County were all better teams than ACS. ACS couldn't run on us so they just dropped back and started heaving the ball since they couldn't run on us and connected twice for tds.

 

They also managed to stop Boyle, or at least slow them down, unlike the likes of Christian County. It's a two-sided coin. They may not have scored the 33 Christian County did, but they didn't give up 49 either.

 

You make it sound like they were lucky TDs. Both were very solid pass plays. Costello (#12) was a wide receiver last year, so his catches were no fluke. It was said Boyle could be beaten through the air, and ACS made it a game via that avenue.

 

I saw each team multiple times this year in person, and several more times on film. It'd be a good game, but I'd give the edge to ACS.

No way Newcath was the 9th best team at the state finals. They've played and beat better teams than Central, Christian Co, and Allen Co Scottsville. (Dixie and Covcath)

You're right. If Mayfields 9th, then they're 10th, at best. Just kidding, sort of. Honestly, I wouldn't proclaim Dixie or CC better than ACS or Central or Christian. I'm sure on a given night, that either could beat any of them, but, same goes for the other 3 and, imo, and most others too, would probably beat those 2 more times than they'd lose to them. I was debating between Central/NCC about the 8th spot and simply went with Central because of there athleticism and, imo, would not have ever lost to Beechwood under any circumstances.

They were both good pass plays that they completed. The one at the end of the half and the 4th quarter td reception. I never said they weren't. I was just more impressed with CC offensively than I was ACS.

Who? Name specifics. When I went to look at their schedule I couldn't find a big win. Cov Cath. Fine, but they only won 6 games all season. They lost to Ryle and Beechwood. (No shame but they didn't beat them)

There's the schedule. Let's talk specifics.

 

Covcath may have only won 6 games but look at their schedule. It was absolutely brutal. They played Ryle (6A state semi finalist), LaSalle (GCL South Champs), Newcath (2A State Champs), Highlands (5A state champs), St Xavier (Likely would've been in state championship if on opposite site of bracket of T), Johnson Central (Arguably the 2nd best team in 5A).

 

Had anyone else in the state, not named Highlands or Trinity, played that schedule, they likely would've only won 5 games in the regular season as well. Please come better than that and know the facts before you bash a team.

 

You obviously haven't seen the nky teams that Newcath played if you don't think their schedule was tough for a 2A program. They played 5 teams that advanced to the second round or further in the playoffs.

 

Dixie- Lost in second round of 5A playoffs to Highlands. Led at the half. Dixie is led by 6'5 Qb Zeke Pike whose offer list looks like a USA Today top 25.

Covcath- Lost in second round of 5A playoffs to Johnson Central. (Lost to Highlands by just 7 points)

Ryle- Lost in the 6A state semi's to Trinity 28-9...Trinity's closest game against KY team.

Campbell Co- Lost in second round of 6A playoffs to state semi finalist, Ryle. Newcath held Campbell Co

Cov Holy Cross- Lost in Region Final to Newcath. Averaged 35 ppg and had a combined 35 points in two games against the Breds.

 

You people down state are getting too hung up on NC's loss to Beechwood. There have been plenty of years where Beechwood has been the better team and Newcath beats them. It's just how this rivalry works. You wouldn't understand it unless you lived in the area. Newcath is much better than that game and they showed it with their dominating performances in the playoffs.
