Yes, Kevin's brother Greg played at Beechwood in the mid to late 90's when they won like 6 state championships in a row. Excellent QB who later played at UC I believe and now is the Offensive Coordinator at Beechwood.

 

The QB you are thinking of NeerFan is Craig Wilmhoff. He was a very good QB who was tough as nails.

I like this thread. It brings up names of the past and I love it. I think it is good to remember players and I'm really loving hearing about the players from Bellevue , Dayton, Lloyd and New. Cath. I remember some of those guys but I was really young at the time.:sssh::lol:

One for NewCath fans, Jeff Brady and "Red" Kramer from the '84 team. Brady was mic'd by ESPN for a Monday Night game vs. the Bucs in the mid-90's. He went head on w/ Alstott at the goalline, real cool video.

If we're going by after high school, then Brady from NewCath and Pike from Dixie would be considered up there. Lyons as well.

Beechwood had both Wulfecks. Just think of that '97 team. Their line averaged about 260 across the front. Their FB was 240 and then Wulfeck was about 6'2" and 210 at TB. Needless to say, the day after that game was terrible.

Melvin Miles of Conner, a pretty impressive RB/LB back in the early to mid 80's.

Holmes has had a lot of very good athletes come through over the years:

 

Brandent Englemon QB/DB- Holmes 03 (Started FS at Michigan)

James "Meechie" Jackson LB- Holmes 02 (Played at Louisville then finished at Murray St after a few injuries)

Antwan Curry WR/DB- Holmes 99-00?? (Had 7 or 8 kick returns his senior year)

Sid Rice RB/WR/DB/LB- Holmes 99-00??

Jamarcus White WR/DB- Holmes 99-00??

Brian Ferguson QB- Holmes 98?? (I believe he was recruited by Florida St but he ended up not going for whatever reason)

 

Others that come to mind from Holmes are Marco Hallman (RB/DB), Jerry 'Stretch' Weaver (WR), and I believe they had another really good Rb in the early-mid 90's but can't think of his name.

 

That Holmes team in 2002 was absolutely loaded with talent. I believe they lost to Highlands that year 35-7 but beat them every which way except for on the scoreboard.

 

My brother graduated in 00 and played with these guys. The 99-2000 team was the fastest team of them all but you're leaving out the key player. Eddie Bane.
