Highlands has the nations third longest winning streak!

Who cares about playing SK. After Lawerence leaves this year they will be a very average team anyway. Why don't the Birds try and schedule some Indiana teams? There are a lot of very good teams in the Indy area..

Why go to Indianapolis when you can go right across the river and play at least 20 very good teams public and private. Of course that would put the streak in serious jeopardy.

Because have you ever heard of the Harbin Rankings? Not every team in Ohio is knocking down the door to play HHS..If one of those teams would lose to the little school from Ft.Thomas then they would have a very hard time making the playoffs..

I love this idea. I would schedule Trinity as potential win #51. Trinity has to win to maintain a share of the record.

I would rather us not share the record, but if it comes down to share or lose the record I would be happy to share. :D

Given our redistricting I am pretty sure Coach Lampley will be calling HHS streak or not simply because we will need to fill out our schedule and I think we would rather avoid the drive to Indianapolis, Nashville or Cincinnati if possible.

Very impressive streak, to say the least.

Scary thing is, if Highlands gets through this year and next year undefeated, the streak may not stop for another 2 or 3 years. Their soph and frosh classes are loaded too.

Highlands is truly building one of the greatest dynastys in Ky high school football history, right now.

So you can win 40 or so straight games and not be worth significant Harbin points? I would say at some point you would be nationally ranked.

What, is a preseason scrimmage not enough for you?!?! :p

Seriously though, the more I think about this the more I realize we're getting way, way ahead of ourselves in talking about HHS having this winning streak intact in 2011... let's not forget that in their past two games the Bluebirds haven't exactly been stellar against teams (Dixie and CovCath) that are probably middle-of-the-road 5A teams right now.

Also, let's not forget that Highlands takes on Ryle at Ryle next week. It sounds like Ryle has developed their passing game more since HHS and Ryle played earlier this year.

This team will be very, very fortunate to win 5A this year, in my opinion. It's hard to win a state title when you have problems with penalties and turnovers. Hopefully the players and coaches will get some of this straightened out soon! Go 'Birds!

I think all this talk about the streak is being fueled by some "mafia" members. You know, some karma to go a long way against HHS. Get them thinking about it and "BAM" somebody surprises them and beats them. Hey HHS next opponent is Scott!

IF Highlands were to finish out the year undefeated, I say schedule cup cakes to get to 50. Then play Trinity to see if you can break the record. Worst case, you tied the record of the team that you're competing with for the most state titles.

Agreed!!!! Problem is the NKY cupcakes wont play the Birds. LOL. Go Birds 20n10

That right there is a fact. Go Birds 20n10

Thank you! They take care of one at a time or they don't have to worry about continuing the streak next year.

If this streak is maintained I would not doubt a National Championship in 2013.This being said,Dale will have to schedule a couple top 25 teams maybe next year for this special Freshman classes senior year to justify.

I was really wanting Sweeperboy to answer that question since he posed the statement. :p

My bad Hatz. I thought it was open-ended!

I don't think you get how it works? Do a little research and then you might possibly understand.
